I highly recommend buying the sight-seeing pass for 3.50 euro. This will take you to all the tourist spots with in Sintra. The road up there is surprisingly beautiful through lush and mountaneous areas - have your camera ready ! Take a bus from the Sintra train station; walking will take a very long time.
