There is quite a bit of stuff to see, but unless you are really interested in the history of mail, it is dispensible. The exhibits are good and there is quite a bit to learn about the topic and there is a lot for kids. The gift shop is pretty good for some original souvenires. more

A Great Museum in the D.C. area. We went here when we were near the Union Station. It outlines and shows how important the U.S. Postal Service is ,and how it has kept the country in touch with each other for many years. more

We loved this museum. It was probably our favorite in DC. There was no crowd---we visited over the week of July 4th & everything else was very crowded. We have 3 kids, ages 4-12 & they all loved it. It is very interactive for people of all ages! There was a very helpful docent that showed us the first stamp... more

We found ourselves there for at least a couple hours and actually enjoying ourselves. There are rare stamps, mailboxes from around the world, mail trucks from many generations etc. Also fun stations like an interactive... more

Even though it is not on the mall, this is museum is part of the smithsonian. It is near Union Station on Capital Hill. It is not as overwhelming as the other smithsonian museums, but equally as interesting. It has the wrapper that the hope diamond was delivered in. The nation's largest stamp collection. And other interactive exhibits which are... more
