We went to Moscow assuming we would visit Lenin's Mausoleum, but the long waits and expensive tickets are not worth the time. Also, FYI - the line to enter is separate from the line to enter Red Square. Although the Mausoleum is located within Red Square, so that makes it confusing. It honestly does not seem like it is worth... more

Lenin died over 84 years ago and Russia preserved his body against his wishes in a glass box. They recently found mold on his hand so they were replaced with prostics, and there is also talk to close the memorial due to the costs. It was an odd experiance and he truely looked like he had died yesterday. The hours... more

The trip through the mausoleum itself only takes a few minutes, but the wait to get in can be long. Guests walk in one side, descend the steps to the tomb, stroll by the "body" and then walk out. It is hard to tell if it is really Lenin's body or not. It certainly looks like wax, but who knows?... more
