The Ferry Building was lovingly restored and is now filled with cute shops and restaurants, like a cheese shop, wine bar, Peets Tea & Coffee, bookstore, kitchen supply store, etc etc. My mother and I visited during afternoon commute time, when the main entrance was crazy with commuters trying to reach their ferries in time. The Ferry Building at Embarcardero is a superb place to shop for local fruits and vegetables. The indoor market place is a cool place to look around. I would recommend eating at the Hog Island Oyster Bar, they have some of the best oysters in town. You can validation for parking too. more
