I am from Montreal, which is also a big city and I did not enjoy my NY experience. Yes, Times square is beautiful all lit up at night but it is WAYYY overcrowded and very hard to manage with a stroller, the sewers stink (not to mention the urine stench all around Central park). My family and I loved TImes Square. THis is a good place to get lots of cheap t-shirts and New York gifts. This is a crowded very busy place but my kids loved it!!! more

The City of New York has done a great job in cleaning up Times Square. No longer does one feel as if one might be mugged in broad daylight. While there are always interesting characters on the streets of New York, the focus on the tourist trade and the business of Broadway has transformed the area into something very interesting.... more

It's worth seeing with all the glitz and everything, but there's plenty of better things to see in New York. If I was visiting NYC for the first time, I'd just snap a few photos here and move on to my next destination. more
