Maswik lodge has a good location - 5 minutes walk from the canyon edge near the Bright Angel Trail, but that is the best you can say about it. The temperature outside was 100 degrees but it was hotter in the room - choose somewhere with air con if you visit in summer or you will really suffer. Lots of... more

Pleasantly surprised with our two night stay in one of the cabins at Maswik. We were able to check in before 3pm and the front desk employees and cleaning staff were very nice and helpful. The cabin was clean with two beds, desk, tv, and couch. It was a little small but adequate for a short stay. Bathroom area was... more

Stayed here at the start of August for 2 nights as one of the stops on a tour we had organised ourselves. We were a bit concerned before we arrived at Maswik that the accommodation might be a bit 'basic', but this is not the case. We are a family of four, two adults and two teenage children, and the... more

The Maswik exceeded all expectations and even the lack of air conditioning wasn't a disaster as the room had two fans. Quiet location and only a 5 minute walk to the rim. We ate at the Maswik and Bright Angel - both very good. We watched sunset from Yavapai Point and then drove to Yaki Point for sunrise - both... more

More than we expected, ideal location 5 minutes from rim and within the national park which is a must!! Room comfortable with fridge, safe and good shower as well as A/C. A real find for the most spectacular scenery you will ever see!! The food in the Maswik lodge cafe is great value don't be fooled in trying the others,... more

We had a comfortable stay at Maswik Lodge. It isn’t in the hub of activity, but a free shuttle can take you there. The rim is only approx. 5 minutes walk. The room was clean and the bathroom had separate vanity section. It had a/c, fan, TV, coffee maker, fridge, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a room safe. If... more

The Maswik lodge was a very clean, comfortable place to stay at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The price was very reasonable and the setting was great. It was a short walk from the canyon's edge yet far enough from the majority of tourists. The only drawbacks were no air conditioning, (They did have a wall fan and... more

Xanterra runs a smooth operation. We stayed at the Maswick Lodge- a beautiful King a/c room that exceeded our expectations. We were a very short walk to the rim, gift shop or cafeteria. Dinner at the Arizona Room had a view and was great. Try a cactus pear drink. A few elk blocked the road in the am when we... more

Maswik Lodge was entirely comfortable and though it wasn't the center of most events and activities (like the Bright Angel Lodge) it was close enough for a quick walk to the rim and far enough away to avoid the tourist clamor. The food in the cafeteria was pretty good for the price although on rare occasion disappointing. Overall well worth... more

This sequel is prompted by our return to Maswik in one of the low-end cabins units (actually a quad arrangement) where we had the low-end motel on the previous visit. Room was much more spacious with an additional platform type couch that might have provided another single bed but for the fact that the cushion was so hard you might... more
