I was at the TROPICOCO from July 20 to July 27 and i just liked it! The hotel is not fancy but was very convenient for me and clean... The elevator worked well while i was there;i was on the 5th floor and i never waited more than 2 minutes for it and never took the stairs. The main problem... more

Let me start off with a warning. If after you read this review you still decide to go to the Tropicoco, THEN YOU DESERVE WHAT YOU GET! My friend and I just returned from Havana, Cuba where we stayed at the Hotel Tropicoco. I will detail our experience and trust me, we were not the only people that felt the... more

To start off let me remind everyone that it is a 2 Star Hotel and I never spent too much time fussing over how many stars a hotel has unitl now. It has the BASICS and that's about it. Food was horrible.. breakfeast was by far the best meal they had that is if you don't mind having ham and... more

Of course everyone enjoys a 4 star in Cuba but if you want good food you stay home. In my case It would have cost me less to go there for a week otherwise I admit I would not have gone. Great people, but if you are single you must go into Guanabo city too. Anyone else going in that... more

We just returned from 4 nights at the Tropicoco Hotel which we thoroughly enjoyed however this hotel would not be suitable for everyone. Tropicoco would be rated a 2-3 star by North American standards. Like much of Cuba, the building could use updating and a fresh paint job. While the architecture is somewhat institutional we really liked the open design... more

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Tropicoco twice now, both in 2007 and 2008 and it has become my home in Cuba. The location is perfect, the view from my room #615 was what you dream of when you dream of Cuba. The shuttle bus into Havana makes it very convenient to spend time in the capital.... more

I had a chance of staying at Tropicoco for 7 nights all inclusive package deal. The bottom line is that this place should get MINUS 10 STARS. What I paid for this hotel and in return what I got was a piece of crap services. I had to change the room five times and the last room was the most... more

Hotel Tropicoco is 1/2 hr. from Havana w/regular bus shuttle 2x daily, booked day before. It is across the street from a lovely beach but watch out for large foot - foot 1/2 long jelly fish of dark color that R on the beach and sometimes in the water in the A>M. Most times you can swim in the ocean... more

I spent 10 days at the Hotel Tropicoco, while my parents stayed for 3 weeks. We agree with many of the other favourable reviews that indicate the Tropicoco is an average, relatively-clean Cuban resort that offers good value for money. Rather than reiterate the same points as everyone else, we've decided to simply list some pros and cons. Pros: -... more
