Our first time was in Feb 2007, our second Feb 2008, we are already looking forward to our extended return in Feb 2009 at this cosy retreat. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. The atmosphere is great, the location is great, and the proximity to the stores, beach, and restaurant’s are great, everyone is wonderful. The friends we go with, the... more

I've been to PV seveal times and always enjoy myself. This year, I joined a group of friends who had stayed at Hotel Mercurio before - but it was my first time. It's a great place and it's a great location - two blocks up from the beach (near Apaches) in Zona Romantica. The rooms are basic but it has... more

Last February I had the good fortune to spend a week at Hotel Mercurio in Puerto Vallarta. This was my first trip to the city and I was a little apprehensive because of a new destination and my Spanish is - more Italian. My fears were unfounded. The instructions provided by the hotel for negotiating the airport, finding the hotel... more

I spent 4 wonderful days at Mercurio Hotel, Puerta Vallarta. It is a charming small, very gay friendly place. I had a pleasant single room at pool side which was nice. The guests were very accomodating and it was not noisy after 10 PM. The breakfast buffet is one of the best. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It... more

This is a great small hotel with a whole lot of charm. The staff is very friendly & helpful. The hotel it's self is intimate with a great free breakfast around the pool & a fun happy hour. It's not beachfront, but very close, as it is to all the clubs & restaurants in Old Town. This will definately be... more

So as a regular in Vallarta, I have come to find the best and worst of PV hotels and this one is close to the worst. If you're coming to get laid, the staff is very accomodating and there is fun to be had. I had two issues, the bed was terrible, one of the most lumpy beds, I have... more

Generally friendly hotel with a very nice breakfast and happy hour scene where many of the guests socialize. The friendly atmosphere makes up for the substandard physical plant. The crowd is very mixed and international, ranging from very young party boys to more mature gentlemen and from sophisticated professionals with varied interests to pure TPT, worthy of the Cableman's coterie.... more

I stayed in the Mercurio from June 1st until June 13th and had a great time. The hotel is a small rustic Mexican hotel. As others have said if you are loooking for a 5star experience then I suggest you stay with one of the chain's at Marina Vallarta or Nouva Vallarta. I dont want to repeat what others have... more

I booked the Club/Spa package. A premium product, but worth the extra, as I don't speak Spanish, and was visiting an unknown area. Everything worked seemlessly, from the Taxi rep meeting me in the baggage hall into a waiting air conditioned car, (complete with bottle of chilled water) through to a warm welcome at the Hotel Mercurio with my room awaiting... more
