I stayed in this hotel for three days and the experience was great. I booked a room with a king bed, but I was upgraded to a suite, which was perfect. It was in a corner of the building and from the window there was a nice view of the CN tower. The bed and the pillows were extremely confortable.... more

While the hotel was perfectly fine, good luck trying to get through to a guest. I've called numerous times today trying to reach a guest who stayed there after I left Toronto to never reach an operator. That is unacceptable. Finally, I called the guest on their cell phone and they called the operator to inquire/complain about my inability to... more

Stayed here for four nights last year and was reasonably happy with the stay. The room was clean and tidy, although a little dated, and the bathroom was very clean. The location was really good, a metro station nearby, and we found plenty of restaurants and bars we liked within short walking distance. It's not the fanciest hotel I've ever... more

This is the second time this year I have stayed at the Metropolitanon on business. Whilst is is not the flashiest hotel I have stayed in, it is in an excellent location for both business and leisure, being close to the subway, shopping at the Eaton Centre and the restaurants/bars downtown. It's not a Westin but equally you are not... more

The Metropolitan is an independent hotel that is conveniently located -- walking distance to the Four Season's Performing Arts, Nathan Phillips Square, parts of China town, the AGO. Close to the University subway line. My King-size room was smallish, but clean and comfortable. Parking is tight (lots of columns) and valet parking might be a good option for nervous drivers.... more

I was a bit surprised when I read all the negative reviews. I stayed here 5 years ago and thought it was great, but was worried that things have changed. I shouldn't have been. Got a nice, large, smart room with a CN Tower view (asked for). Room was clean, modern and refurbished. Hotel is nice, staff are helpful and... more

Lovely accommodations, fantastic location, and superb service. I feel that I got away with a great price on Orbitz and would definitely stay there again. Travelers should be aware (especially travelers booking their stay here on Orbitz.com) that there are multiple "types" or "levels" of rooms in this hotel. If you want high speed internet you will have to upgrade... more

Most people are reluctant to book hotels that are not flagged by the big brands. Which in my opinion sometimes is the safest route (in certain countries) but in many circumstances a big mistake. The Metropolitan may not have 2000 hotels world wide or be a house hold name or have it's heiress with her own TV show like the... more

I chose the Metropolitan based on location for my business meetings in Toronto and price (which was $35/night cheaper than the nearby Sheraton Centre). Room was smaller than average, but comfortable. TV had a good selection of channels (over 50) and the free high-speed internet was fast and reliable. Ordered breakfast from room service - it was above average. The... more

My wife and I were at the hotel in late November and the best part was the service we received, which was excellent! The hotel decor was OK, and the room was quiet and had a nice view of some of the downtown core. It was a little bit small, but we only stayed for 2 nights and most of... more
