I had stayed at the Selby for a night before my important meeting. I booked it online and it was one of the good discounts in downtown toronto. The neighborhood is largely residential, and if you are looking for views, all you may get is view of other apartments (or nothing if in the basement) but if you do not... more

We selected this hotel because of the convenience to the subway system, close to the gay district, and the quaintness of it. After traversing the steps up to the lobby (We were on our honeymoon and had lots of luggage). We were pleasantly greeted and permitted to check into our rooms earlier, the front desk gave an excellent recommendation for... more

I stayed here for my birthday as well as my one year anniversary with my boyfriend and I was so upset when I got there. The parking lot is so tiny that it feels like only Tonka Toys would fit properly. If you have a big truck or van good luck trying to fit in their parking lot. The breakfast... more

This hotel looks charming from the outside and definitely has quirks as others have said. It is a great location and a great price. Downtown, quite neighborhood, across the street from the subway and walking distance to shopping all for more than 50% off from the Marriott up the street. Breakfast is enough to get you going but there is... more

This hotel looks wonderful on its website. And some rooms may well resemble the photos. However, if you book a special rate (as we did, through AAA), you may wind up (as we did) in the basement, in a very simple room whose only window -- screwed shut -- looked into an interior laundry/maintenance area. Yes, it was clean and... more

The hotel is very comfortable and clean. The rooms are a good size with a large washroom and clothing closet. There is a hair dryer and a iron/board in the room. Each room also has a coffee pot and replenished coffee/tea. We actually really liked the hotel because we didn't need to ask for anything. We did not however find... more

When my parents came to visit me in Toronto I sent them to this hotel. Not only is it a block away from where I live, but it's across the street from the subway station, in walking distance of the shopping on Bloor Street, and one of the more inexpensive hotels near the downtown area. Plus I knew my mother... more

We stayed at the Clarion at the end of our holiday. The main reason for visiting Toronto was to go to Niagara Falls on our way back to the UK so we only stayed 2 nights. The hotel has a lot of character and is quite quirky. The front desk were helpful enough and the service was generally polite and... more

A reasonably priced, clean and well recommended hotel. The staff are polite, the rooms are well equipped (free wireless and an internet machine in the lounge). Breakfast is good (paper plates and plastic cutlery though). No bar and no restaurant but there is an excellent pub within 100 yards. Well recommended. more

Very happy with our stay in this hotel. The hotel does look a bit wierd and "unfinished" at times but it was always in perfect working order. A typical example is the door frame to our suite which looked like it was all bent out of shape, and thus the door should be a few millimeters from stuck. But after... more
