This was our second stay. The place is just terrific. The rooms are nicely decorated and I love the giant closet with all the shelves, easy to pack and unpack. The bathrooms are great (though the glass shower doors do leak) The only problem we encountered was with housekeeping. They came fairly late, around 3-4 PM and returned at 6PM... more

Great rooms, excellent service, expensive. I didn't eat at the hotel, didn't buy the internet service, didn't spend one penny beyond the room, parking ($30) and taxes. I had a great stay. The location is convenient for driving to/from, subway, etc. A bit far from Old Montreal, but we walked it in 20 minutes or so. more

This hotel is so well located near the high end stores, McGill and Mount Royal. It is modern, bright and very well run. We belong to Sofitel Privelege so were upgraded and given an early checkin and late checkout. The bar and restaurant are attractive but very modern. I booked the wrong dates online with no changes allowed but the... more

If your idea of luxury is the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons brocade, velvet, swags and overstuffed sofa school, then this hotel is not for you. On the other hand, if you want stunning contemporary style, exquisite furnishings, top-class service, wow-factor bathrooms, all wrapped in a dramatic modernist architectural package, then you will love the Sofitel Montreal. It is deliberately... more

Stayed at the hotel for two nights while in Montreal on business. The room was very nice. The bed was a bit too soft for me but I'm sure it would be just right for most people. The mini bar and room service prices were very expensive but that's to be expected at any high-end hotel. Huge closet and bathroom... more

This was my second time staying at a Sofitel property (the first time being in Chicago) and both times were truly remarkable. The Montreal property is exceptionally well run, is impeccably clean, has fantastic room service, offers comfortable beds, and has a very friendly staff. All staff members speak both French and English while offer professional service (all with a... more

This is a place you dream going to but you don't think it is out there, well my dream came through and i'm very happy to see there are still places out there that know what means customer service. The room are bright and clean , the bathroom has the separate shower and it's in a perfect conditions. All the... more

My wife and I stayed at the Sofitel Montreal for 4 nights in January 2006. The hotel was great and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was easily on par with some of the other luxury hotels in the area, but at half the price. We got a great deal on hotels.com. We had a corner room,... more

I really resent hotels these days that charge: $15 per day for Internet $11 for a pint of Guinness ($6.50 in Calgary) ...and doesn't have a coffee perc in the room in order to force you to use room service at $10 per large pot. (+plus the room service charge and the "gratuity", like - thanks for the "service" Sofitel!)... more

Very nice hotel, location is great (right in the centre), and very good service. A well-recommended hotel to stay. (if I had to criticise one thing, it would be the Hotel/restaurant Renoir.. service is poor and food VERY expensive. I personnally thing it is overstated and not worth it. It is better to go in a restaurant downtown. more
