We just got back from a 2 night stay at the Best Western Timber Cove (Aug. 1-3) and could not have been more pleased with our stay in a partial view King non-smoking room for $144/nt (AAA discount). For easy reference, here are the highlights: 1. The BW Timber Cover has an incredible location directly on a wide, clean sandy... more

The usually reliable Best Western Chain let me down this time. My wife and I booked a trip to Tahoe for our anniversary and we were looking for something with Beach and a view. BWTC seemed to fit the bill. Upon arrival I was not impressed with the front desk experience. Including one staff person talking to another about how... more

We arrived 'on spec' and found the receptionist helpful and gave us a good rate for one night. The rooms, clean & tidy with everything you need, but perhaps in need of updating. The hotel was right on the shore of the lake which was beautiful. Breakfast a bonus - Well stocked continental style. more

This is a cute hotel on the Lake. Our room 210 had a nice view of the lake and the pier. Our room also had a nice grassy sitting area. The rooms are a bit small. They have a gas fireplace and air conditioning. The carpet I felt was dirty but the rest of the room was clean. The bathroom... more

The private beach was wonderful. The exterior looked a little dated but the interior seemed to be remodeled recently. Comfortable bed. Nice staff. OK breakfast. I would go back again. more

We stayed here for one night as the last leg of our Sierra Nevada holiday trip. We were a bit apprehensive with our stay here because of some previous negative reviews. Fortunately, we never experienced any of those and had a nice time here. When we checked in, the front desk staff informed us that some rooms were being renovated.... more

This Best Western in South Lake Tahoe is a pretty standard example of the Best Western chain. Nicely decorated rooms but nothing particularly special. Rooms in reasonably good repair, but not perfect. Desk staff that are OK but not trying all that hard. The location on the lake is very nice, though, and it's very conveniently and centrally located with... more

I didn't even get to stay at this hotel. That's how horrible the service was. I was arriving in the early morning and called ahead to reserve a room. I was told they had plenty of rooms and to just come on down and they would set me up when I got there. Now, I don't know if the staff... more

I booked this hotel at the last minute for the Martin Luther King Weekend. It was one of the only hotels with average reviews available for this weekend. Since I had read the mixed reviews before I came I was a bit worried about what my room would be like. It turns out that it was fine. Phew! I paid... more

The rooms here were better than the average Best Western as our room had a fireplace with a balcony and right on the lake. We had a small peek-a-boo view and were pleased considering our rate was under 100.00. The staff was pleasant and the maids paid attention to the "Privacy Please"signs...over all a very relaxing stay. more
