The best feature about this Hotel is its location. It is right on Princes Street and the Castle and the Royal Mile are only a 10 minute walk away. The hotel however, is in need of of some serious renovation. My room was small and although reasonably clean was extremely tatty. it looked as if it had not been decorated... more

The location is great, right on Princes Street, with superb views, and if you're in a street-facing room on the 7th floor you can climb out the window onto the balcony. However I didn't have a comfortable stay. The room stank of smoke (I was later told that they had "really good air freshener" that I should have asked for... more

Awful, ugly decor and this was in the "recently updated" Castle view room. Very noisy with window open as it is on a major street. Double glass helped a little. Not clean. dated. horrible lighting. Uncomfortable bed. yukky bath/shower with crappy towels. Rude staff. Actually many were very nice but one was rude enough for them all. The location was... more

Although the hotel is located in a prime location, the rooms are not what you would expect from a Ramada hotel. We stayed there for 4 days and two of those days we were awoken by fire alarms. One of these triggered alarms forced us to evacuate the hotel for over an hour. Among the other "pleasantries" we encountered were... more

We stayed here on a 3 day weekend break to Edinburgh. As we arrived by train, the location could not have been better as it was literally across the street from the main station Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a nice view of the castle and although they are in the process of refurbing the outside... more

This is a decent Travel lodge but certainly not a hotel so far as standard/feature rooms are concerned. Our room was termed a feature room but what the feature was supposed to be;apart from the scaffolding;I've no idea.No comfort, just a low back office type armchair. The only draw space is taken up with tea/coffee acoutrements and PC/laptop paraphenalia. At least the double... more

Stopped here a few times on business as the location is right by where I need to go for work (Prince's St). The location is both an advantage and disadvantage insofar as it's central and convenient, but also on a very busy street and bus route. Buses (and drunks!) literally go up and down all night and it can be... more

This hotel is in a great location, across from the Lovely Princes Gardens and Museum/Gallery. There is also a distant view of the Castle. The room i stayed in was small, but very clean. The staff from reception to cleaning were very pleasant. The food wasn't bad and was reasonably priced for Lunch/Tea. Note that the reception is not in... more

We recently completed a two-night stay at the Ramada Mount Royal. Overall, this hotel is conveniently located, easily reached from the airport, and somewhat reasonably priced (We paid about £80/night B&B). The rooms were clean but average and in line with what you would expect at this tariff. The breakfast buffet had many choices and everything seemed to be freshly... more
