Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Best Western Academy Plaza. Decided to stay here after reading the mainly positive reviews on this website, and was not disappointed at all. The hotel is less than a 2 minute walk from the first drop off point of the airport coach, at the top of O'Connell Street. The reception... more

Me, mother and my 90 year old grandma, who is in a wheelchair, have just returned from this hotel and it was simply wonderful. It is very well equipped for disabled and all the staff were very attentive to our needs. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast we very tasty, with always lots on (I have stayed in... more

Great location, but otherwise unremarkable. Didn't eat in any of the restaurants. Nice lobby, but rooms kind of shabby, also very stuffy. Our shower head didn't work the first day. Front desk staff polite and somewhat helpful. Internet access in lobby was nice. Probably could have picked a better hotel in Dublin. more

This hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard, very nice. Bedrooms are small but functional and the bathrooms are very beautifully finished. The bar area and abacus restaurant are also worth a visit. But unfortunately the reception staff are not very welcoming or helpful, mostly polish, do not give a personal touch at all. Check out is midday... more

I had certain reservations about staying at a Best Western hotel, having heard some bog standard comments about this brand. However, having checked their website for this particular hotel, I thought it looked very nice and modern. I was very happy with it, as its in a great location, close to all amenities and the bus stop for the airport... more

We stayed at the Best Western Academy hotel in May 2008. The room was not huge but not overly small either. The hotel has recently been refurbished, we believe. The rooms were very clean, the bed comfortable and breakfast just fine, if not exciting. It was everything we needed. Location is great, just off O'Connell St., just north of the... more

I normally stay the the Gresham Hotel, ut wnated to try something different, but in the same area so I tried this hotel. I stayed for 2 nights and everything was wonderful. The room is very small, but immaculately clean. There was no bath, only a shower, which some people may not like, but for me it was fine. My... more

Four of us ladies stayed in the Academy Hotel for 3 nights at the end of April. The rooms were lovely with very comfortable beds and pillows. The power shower was a dream to use - simple and straightforward with plenty of hot water. We had dinner in the hotel bar on 2 nights and the food was tasty and... more

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of April. The Hotel is very convenient for Temple Bar - only about 10-15 mins walk. The airport bus (727) takes you straight into Dublin City Centre and stops just up the road from the Hotel - 1 min walk. We had a refurbished room on the third... more
