The concept of the hotel was intriguing, although what made us go ahead to book a stay here was the price. At less than 200 euros per night, it was an excellent deal for a 5-star hotel. We stayed on the Plasma Studio floor, which was amazing. Weirdly-angled and shiny walls and floor dominated the lift lobby and corridor. The... more

We chose to stay at the Puerta America Hotel after a recommendation from a friend and I can truly say that it is a hotel like no other. The hotel is so modern that we initially walked straight past the front door! There is no grand entrance as you would expect to find at such a hotel. Instead, entrance is... more

This hotel was booked for a surprise break and the experience was brilliant. On arriving at the hotel we got to choose which floor we wanted to stay on, each floor is themed so it's worth checking out their website to see the different styles and designs each floor has to offer. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The... more

The Hotel Puerta America is a truly unique luxury hotel in Madrid. I stayed for business and thought the hotel was lovely and perfectly central for both work and tourist activities -- 15 min cab ride to/from the airport, 3 minute walk to the Metro station (loved the metro!) and/or a 10 min cab ride downtown. As you will read... more

This is a lovely hotel, definitley a 5 star hotel. Each floor is individual as it has been designed by a different architect. We stayed on the Katherine Finlay floor (8th) which was very space age and all in white and very modern. Very trendy! If you're after a swanky hotel this is the place to stay. I have stayed... more

We had planned to stay at the Puerta America for a night after a 10 hour flight from Uruguay. We had booked for the Ron Arad floor, unfortunately, the hotel e-mailed us a week before to inform us that that floorm would be renovated. We then asked for the Plasma Studio floor. Our flight landed at 7am, we decided to... more

I cannot fault this hotel..in a word it was amazing. A must see for any designer or architect. It is situated next to the underground and bus station. Easy links to the airport and city centre. It was too far to walk into the city but the public transport is excellent and there are cheap taxis everywhere. Staff are extremely... more

We were presented with a book of the individual floors in order to choose which floor was OK for us. We chose the 10th (Japanese) floor. Although the room was a bit too dark, it didn’t matter because the whole setting was just amazing. It’s not something I would like to have at home, but it was a great experience.... more

I found staying at this hotel a fantastic experience. Yes, it is totally impractical but it is also quite stunning. No expense has been spared on the decor and I am sure that even a short break will remain long in the memory of anyone who stays here. The location is a bit out of the way but that is... more

The first impression I got when I arrived to this hotel was: a modern, abstract and sofisticated place, a place for artists, decorators, arquitects, etc, but then one day after I discovered it is not a good place for businessmen, families or old people. The rooms are nice and big, but not practical to work, my room was practically black... more
