I have stayed at the Bilderberg Garden Hotel for several years now while visiting Amsterdam on business. I find the location is great - a nice neighbourhood if you want to be a little out of the centre but close to classical music, museums and nice shops. Unfortunately I really noticed a slip in standards during my last visit. My... more

We stayed at this hotel im May and booked one of the executive suits. on first arriving in the room we were perhaps a little disapointed as the picture of the rooms were entirely different from that on the internet. obviously we are aware that picutre often dont depict the exact rooms, but it was very different. however. on closer... more

Stayed there by accident, as I booked at the Bilderberg's other Amsterdam property (better location), but, because I am an idiot, I mistakenly booked starting the day before and they had given up our room. Completely my mistake and they quickly found us a room at the Garden and paid for a cab to get us there... I stayed on... more

You can always take the trams to the core. Very safe area to roam around. A bit isolated (as you're literally in the 'suburbs'), though. Fantastic breakfast buffet, one of the best on our entire 3 week European trip. more

I stay frequently at this hotel, not by enthusiasm but because it is the one selected by my company. Lobby/lounge area is fine; too short menu at the bar, but food is decent. Very kind reception staff. Once you move to the rooms, it becomes another story. Rooms are tiny except "executive" rooms; doors are of the noisy "slam" type,... more

My partner and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights at the end of January 2008 and it was simply fantastic. Other reviews have commented on how this hotel is slightly outside the main city centre but to my mind this is not a bad thing. 1. It is only 15-20 minute walk into the centre of town and... more

The exterior of the hotel is unimpressive. The location is pretty out of the way. However the staff are very helpful the interior is excellent and the rooms are very cosy and well appointed, perhaps a little dated. The food including the room service are excellent its a great place to lock yourself away and indulge. Taxis aren't cheap in... more

We stayed here for New Year and paid extortionate rates as we went last minute. 320 Euros a night... having said that the hotel was lovely, but nothing spectacular. It is a modern 70's building opposite the Hilton, in a residential area filled with beautiful Amsterdam School influenced houses. We found it easy to get a tram 5 or 24... more

The staff at this hotel are amazing, the rooms are a step above the average, and the property well maintained. Need an umbrella? The front desk has those. There's no need to pack one. Need directions? Just ask at the desk, they know the way. Want something to eat? There are plenty of great local restaurants a short tram ride... more

4 star hotel. Okay I was little bothered when I pulled up due to the building not giving me impression of 4 star. The staff made the differance, and were beyond professional. It was obvious after staying here that the hotel had a reputation, and the clientel were upper crust. Me being american am used to smoking outside and did... more
