Just want to reiterate what other have said here. Loved the hotel. Spent 2 nights in May and though I did not have a "canal" view room my room was only one room back from the corner so still had the view! The staff were helpful and accommodating and provided restaurant recommendations. One night I was particularly tired and just... more

This hotel was not too hard to find. Mind you we had a TomTom, which I highly recommend for getting into Amsterdam. We had to park along the canal to unload our luggage, which wasn't a huge amount because we were only staying for 3 nights, but we only had enough change for an hour. The hotel recommended a local... more

What is not to love about this hotel? The accommodation is lovely, the breakfast is very good, lots of nibbles in the living/reception area throughout the day/evening, and free booze for your minibar. (And if you ask nicely, they'll swap the provided spirits for something you prefer - like we swapped the whisky for vodka every time). The location is... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in May. Really can't fault the hotel. Staff are very attentive and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable, but the bathroon was even better with a really big bath plus a separate rain shower. Breakfast is lovely and there is a chef to cook omelettes and pancakes etc if you want. One of... more

We spent a long weekend in Amsterdam and selected this Hotel mostly based on reviews I read here. It was everything the website says it was. I really can't fault this hotel at all. We arrived around 8am and couldnt check-in til after lunch, which was expected and we were fine with that. Simply left luggage there and went exploring... more

This place is really different - and a mixed bag. No stupid rip-offs with the mini-bar, lots of terrific extras - all 'free' and a really great location. BUT, the breakfast was about as poor a standard as could be imagined, eg scrambled eggs made by reheating already-made stuff resembling yellow rubber, poor selection etc. This is not what hotel... more

My husband and I stayed at the Banks Hotel for seven nights (April 30 - May 8), and we were very satisfied with the hotel. I booked directly with the hotel, and I was contacted by the desk staff to welcome us and enquire about any requests. And we did have a couple of requests: 1) we were arriving in... more

Banks Mansion was the first hotel my wife and I stayed at when we started to go to Amsterdam for a city break about three years ago. We thought that it was lovely then; the free snacks, drinks and tv were all excellent, as was the location and all this made our stay wonderful. We have been back to Amsterdam... more

Stayed at the Bank's Mansion for four nights in April and couldn't have been more pleased. Everything important has already been said in other posts but I felt I needed to confirm that the hotel is just as nice as people claim. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. The room was a perfect size (corner room) as was the bathroom,... more

A great hotel situated in central Amsterdam, within easy walking distance of most sights in the city. The hotel is immaculate and the staff most helpful and pleasant. The unusual feature of the Banks is that you are provided with decanters of whisky, brandy and gin in the room with mixers and soft drinks, all included in the price. The... more
