Reading some of the other reviews it seems that we stayed in a very different place! For information, I have a fair experience of traveling. I have been in professional roles involving up to 60% of international travel . I stayed in various level of accommodations but this one is the first one that had such a great contrast between... more
My partner and I stayed at the Museum Hotel for 4 nights mid-week in July 2008. The rooms, whilst modern, were not functional to an adequate standard. The lights above the bed were not working. The shower leaks into the rest of the bathroom. The bathroom door squeaked loudly. The air conditioning setting did not worked - only the high... more
I have stayed in many Hotels in Wellington on Business and will be keeping Museum Hotel as my prefered! The apartments were very modern and the staff and facilities were great. Cant fault anything! more
I was nervous about this hotel based on the other reviews here but my fears faded upon check-in. Yes, the rooms need updating but tired decor does not equal dirty, our room was clean and comfortable. The free internet usage was much appreciated as we tried to track down our missing luggage. The desk staff made several calls to the... more
Flew in to Wellington and went straight to my hotel. Very dark and moody front desk area. Almost Gothic! Older style room was facing the road with a shared balcony with the room next door. Not to my liking. Needs a good renovation. Bathroom was in need of a good clean, and I have no idea what was stuck in... more
Perfect location or Te Papa Museum. Rooms not large, but adequate, and the price reasonable for City centre. Decoration looking rather tired in February 2008, but apparently a renovation is underway. Free internet in reception area. more
Just returned from Wellington where my girlfriend and I stayed a night in the Museum hotel on our way out. Overall it's a nice place. Check in was easy and friendly, our room was nice (no view whatsoever), comfy bed, decent bathroom. All you would expect of a decent, modern, city center hotel. It's biggest asset is it's location, which... more
I stayed over at the Museum Hotel on Saturday 16th February. I find the previous reviewer's comments incredible, it hardly seems like the same Hotel. What I appreciated the most of the Hotel was the friendly service and the extra facilities (sauna, gym & pool). I used these on a wet Sunday morning, and found them to be fantastic...it was... more
Stayed 2 nights January 2008. Harbour view room was disgustingly dirty, (see other reviews on TripAdvisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g255115-d256502-Reviews-or10-Museum_Hotel_de_Wheels-Wellington_North_Island.html#MIDC) On getting to our room we were very disappointed. · To say the room was dirty would be kind. · I had asked for non smoking room but the place stank of stale smoke. · There was a sand filled container on the... more
