Stayed the first week in July. We had a room on the 12th flr and was not bothered by the train, or construction next door. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast, and there was a large crowd each day. The staff handled it very well and were friendly even tho it was a mad house every morning. Room was clean and comfortable.... more
The biggest complaint is the buffet "free dinner." Go early - one night, they ran out of food at 6:30, and brought out some cold cuts - not very appetizing. Watch out for little kids picking up food with their hands too - not very clean. The food is "OK." Nothing great - and I hope they'll work on this.... more
We originally booked into the Hilton in Arlington (way overpriced) and moved to this location on the advice of a colleague. Great advice. I've stayed at Residence Inns e;sewhere and they are pretty consistent. Nothing posh but very comfortable and that sense of being in an apartment instead of a hotel is great when you are staying multiple nights. This... more
I stayed at the Residence Inn Capitol for four nights in May 2008. I reserved a one bedroom suite. The hotel was nice, but in a business district. In the evenings, everything was closed. There is the Federal Center SW (blue/orange line) two blocks away. Turn left out the hotel door and then another left at the first street. Pass... more
This Residence Inn - part of the Marriott line is great for extended stays and families. The room was a large suite with a living area, kitchen and dining area. The bed is not in a separate room but set off to the side. The sofa is a sleeper though. The kitchen included all the utensils but you don't need... more
We stayed at the Residence Inn Capitol from Mar. 27-30, 2008. This was the culmination of a road trip for me and my best friend, from Nashville to DC. My fiancee also joined us in DC. Before I get to the various negative experiences we had, I want to point out a couple of positives: the room was wonderful (bed,... more
In a few words, I LOVED staying at this hotel. Here's why: 1) I asked the receptionist for a room with some sort of VIEW. I mentioned I was tired of seeing a wall or some ugly building from my room. He pulled out a hotel plan and explained what my 3 options were and what the view might be.... more
We stayed in a studio in October and found this hotel great. Our studio was very clean, recent and quite big. Breakfast and dinner were much appreciated since there are not a lot of restaurants in the area but apart from that the location is great, easy walking distance to the underground (3mins) and near all the American administration. The... more
Stayed for 3 nights between Christmas and New Years....AAA rate was $132 plus $30 a day for parking. Parking is underground and a little tight to maneuver but manageable. Stayed on the 13th floor at the front of the building to avoid the train tracks....train noise was minimal. The room itself was clean, large and nicely furnished with a refrigerator... more
