At the recommendation of a previous guest, we requested room 15 and stayed there for 2 nights. A great location within easy walking distance of the 2 plazas. Had dinner at Cha Cha Cha and Mistongo - each an easy walk from the hotel. The interior courtyard rumoured to be the largest in Patzcuaro is well done with fruit trees... more

There is not a more lovely hotel in Patzcuaro than Meson de San Antonio. Less than 10 rooms facing a manicured central courtyard. Sits behind the main Cathedral at the top of the hill in a quiet area, yet only 3 blocks from the 2 main plazas of the old town. The place has been decorated with a good eye... more

I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here at Meson de San Antonio. We were travelling with 2 children and this place could not have been more perfect. The rooms were lovely with a fireplace and all the charm and amenties that we hoped for. They have a communal kitchen that is well equipped and a... more

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife while driving through Mexico on holidays. A beautiful hotel that Mr Alfredo del Rio is restoring to its old glory. The room we stayed in (15) was huge and had a fireplace, although we understood most rooms are just as big or bigger and have fireplaces. Wood is provided each day. Just... more

I picked Meson de San Antonio based on the glowing TripAdvisor reviews. generally agree about the positive features. The entire building has been beautifully redone. The courtyard is a delight, the rooms are charming and spotless. There's even free wireless internet. But noise is a real problem. There's a nightclub in the basement of the hotel that plays pounding rock... more

Our stay at the Hotel Meson de San Antonio was a completely wonderful experience. We stayed for a week, one half during the otherwise crazy Semana Santa (Easter Week) and enjoyed every minute. The hotel is so wonderful its a bit hard to decide which elements to focus on, but rest assured, from the friendly and helpful staff to the... more

This beautiful place is a perfect gem. Alfredo is a knowledgeable gentleman who imparts an air of grace to his beautiful meson. Breakfast in the great room was a treat as were all of his recommendations for trips and restaurants. Our first meal in Patzcuaro was the "head" taco stand outside the door and we returned again and again for... more

We chose this hotel for the second half of our honeymoon after being married at the Hotel Brisas del Mar in Zihuatanejo. It was a perfect complement to that town in every way--cool, breezy weather which felt wonderful after a few days on the beach; a quiet, peaceful atmosphere which was perfect for us to read, take long walks, and... more

I loved the Meson de San Antonio! My clean, quiet (except for the native celebration complete with immense firecrackers beyond the hotel's control), beautifully decorated room, with comfortable bed, large bathroom with good water pressure in the shower, wi-fi, a working fireplace, cable TV with what must have been 100 channels, outdoor hacienda garden area for sitting, large main room,... more

My husband and I had our 1st trip out of the United States last fall (late Sept. into Oct. '06) and had the truly good fortune of starting our trip in Patzcuaro at the Hotel Meson de San Antonio. After a loooong trip to town from DF, we were received very graciously and very late (after midnight!) by Jorge and... more
