It was so much better than what we had expected: - great swimming pool - very good food in the swimming pool and beach restaurants - good room service - the most spacious bathroom I had ever been to - Nice beach (although you need to walk for 10-15 min or get on the golf kart s the access is... more

We just got back from a wonderful week-long trip to Zanzibar where we stayed in both the Kempinski and at Breezes. Here's the scoop: the Kempinski is first class. The accommodations are the best on the island with the finishings on the rooms being very, very high end. There are wonderful outdoor showers in all the rooms. The rooms don't... more

We came here for a wedding for a short stay. The positives: Everything for the wedding arrangement was fabulous, the food exquisite, service excellent. The weather was incredible, with temperatures nice for sun tanning. We had the garden terrace room which had an incredible bathroom (both outdoor and indoor showers with large shower heads). The Negatives: The water in the... more

I have been to Zanzibar several times earlier but have only stayed in Stone Town. My visits have been linked to a longer work related stays inland in Tanzania. So the purpose of my brief stay was relaxation, good food and beach/swimming. As others have commented on the Zamani grounds are immense and beautifuly landscaped. As mentioned the beach is... more

I have stayed at several hotels in Zanzibar and none compare to the serenity one can experience at the Zamani Kempinski. I think this has most to do with the size of the hotel grounds (over 30 acres?). There is no other hotel on the island as of yet that can compete with this. Consequently the peace and quiet that... more

We (myself and husband) stayed at 5 different resorts on our trip to Zanzibar. I would say that Kempinski defintely has one of the highest standards for cleanliness and customer service which was excellent. There were many staff (a good thing) who were always available which I liked. HOTEL & SERVICE They were very attentive and couldn't do enough. Perhaps... more

I agreed with my husband to visit Zanzibar Kempinski Hotel. Eventhough, we read some bad review about this hotel. Just to experienced we decide to stay for few days. We reserved a room which includes breakfast & dinner. The foods are really terrible, a lot of flies. The staffs standing at the corner doing nothing not even to help us... more

On behalf of the management, I would like to thank Le-zhou for her feedback. Though disappointed that they did not have a memorable stay with us. I'd wish they had expressed their views whilst still in the hotel by asking for the Senior Management, and it would have been rest assured addressed immediately. The views expressed therein are accepted as...

The Kempinski is typically 5 star hotel and could be anywhere on this world. It is located isolated from any village on the east cost, that means you never see one of the amazing sunsets on Zanzibar. The whole architectural layout of the hotel is very sterile and has no charakter. You can swim in the sea only at high... more

I would like to thank Explorer2021 for his/her review. We appreciate the candid feedback of Explorer2021 and regret the fact that their stay was not a memorable stay with us. Since we did not have the opportunity to address their feedback whilst with us, I will address them on this forum. Our hotel architecture is contemporary yet with hints of...

We spent our honeymoon at this beautiful island in January 2008. The kempinski is a beautiful resort. Rooms are well kept with modern deco. Most booking come with a buffet breakfast which is fulfilling by any standard. The people are one of the nicest and kindest we have met. Their service is super. The grounds are picture perfect. The hotel... more

This was our fourth time at the Zemani. It was just as wonderful as every other time. The service is great. The rooms are huge and ours had a wonderful view. We were treated to complimentary wine and cookies upon arrival at our room. Our teenaged son loved the huge flat screen tv. The beach beautiful. Instead of clear cutting... more
