Hi

I am looking to get Married at the Melia Cayo Guillermo in Feb 2009 but I am a bit concerened as some pages on the internet show the hotel is closed at this time? Does anybody know if this is correct?

Also I am planning to book both my wedding and holiday package with Thomas Cook and was wondering if anyone has any experience of them and if they are any good, particularly at the wedding side of things.

Thanx

Em x

hi

are you sure you are not reading about the sol guillermo next door to the melia. we know most of the staff, and the director of the melia and there is no mention of closing it down for refurbishment regards.

hi

yu might be a travel agent and the hotels are on sale but this gives us no guarantee that the hotels are open.

just as the travel agents where booking the daqurie, and never told there clients it was closed and they where shiffting them all over the cayos, on arrival.

or phoneing them up at the last minutes of there start date to tell them its another hotel or re-book your holiday. sorry to be blunt but it happened regards

Hi there Emmqui,

I can't advise you on whether the Melia Cayo is going to be open for next Feb, but I can say that I have used Thomas Cook in the past and I have no complaints with them. They use the Airbus A330 to fly to Cayo Coco, which has 33" seat pitch. Also, I have found them to be very friendly and professional on board too.

I will be flying them next March too, staying at the Gran Caribe Club Cojimar. You can pre book your seats too, only £30 per person for the return trip.

Hi,

I am getting married in august this year at this resort.

I have booked through Thomas Cook, and I must say they have been excellent in providing us with all the information and help we needed.

The cost of translation for all our documents (we have both been previously married before) is very expensive. However the service is Brilliant.

I intend to write many comments on or time in cuba, so when we get back... I'll let you know...

Hi

I agree with you on that waggalad59. Back in Oct 2006 we booked to stay at the Gran Caribe Club Cojimar. Booked through TC Only to be told once we had landed in cayo coco that our hotel was closed.. We were upgraded to the sol cayo so cant complain there, It was beautiful.. Yet i do think its upsetting that TC take bookings when you have your heart set on one hotel and they dont know if it will be ready.. As said in one of my other reviews i have booked for Dec this year to go back to sol cayo. But no gaurantee it will be open due to its revamp.... We are keeping our fingers crossed...

But know what ever hotel we are put in your sure to have a great holiday x x
