I have never posted a review before but feel I must this time. We are a family of 4 and just returned from a glorious week at the Majestic. Even our teens had a great time and were in awe of the beauty of the hotel (anyone with teens know that is a major endorsement)! The beach is beautiful - very wide sand area with lots of chairs and palapa's. The water is so crystal clear you can see your feet. The pool is huge and also has lots of chairs and shady areas. It is not very deep (maybe 4 feet) and I recommend that you bring some floats if you can. The swim-up bar was always the place to be for socializing but if you prefer a more quiet place that is easily found as well. The Animation team have games and activities at both the beach and pool areas if you want to participate - they do not push if you are not interested though. The staff at the resort is amazing - we never had a complaint and always felt well taken care of. In fact - they go above and beyond the normal and made us feel very special and important. AnnMarie is wonderful and did so much to help make our stay memorable - if we lived closer I would want to become a friend! We were concerned about the privacy/bathroom issue since we were traveling with 2 teenagers and we only had 1 room but when we arrived we were taken to the most beautiful suite with 1 king bed (in seperate bedroom) and 2 single beds had been brought in and set up in the HUGE living area. This was the perfect solution to keep us all together but not "too together"....... Lots of talk lately about the food and we had absolutely no problems at all. Never had a stomach issue - not even a growl! We ate in the steakhouse, seafood, Dominican, roomservice, buffet and the Japanese and enjoyed them all. My daughter doesn't eat meat so the made to order pasta at all the buffets were her favorite (and the cheescakes). My son LOVED the sushi. My husband loved the buffet so he could eat all he wanted. I loved the steakhouse and highly recommend the chateaubriand! There was always ice cream available for dessert along with a variety of cakes and fruits. I do not understand how so many people have such harsh words about the food - it is easy to find something you like and with so many options you can't possibly go hungry! The drinks were fine and the bartenders sure work hard. Try the Chocolate monkey (they also have a non alcoholic version for the under 18 crowd). We saw a few of the shows and they were entertaining - not Broadway but enjoyable. The casino was small and smoky but a fun way to blow a few dollars before the show. My son enjoyed the nightly movie in the sports bar a few times - it was a good place to meet up with his new friends. The resort seemed to have lots of younger children (under 10 years old) and lots of newlyweds but less families traveling with teens. We walked to the shopping plaza just outside the hotel and purchased all our souveniers there - it seemed like the prices were better than the resort shops. The Thursday night vendors who come to the hotel were much too pushy for my taste so we didn't stick around to browse. I think I covered everything but if you have any questions feel free to ask.........Remember to bring a ton of sun screen - lots of red bodies parading around the pool (mine included)!
Again a special thanks to AnnMarie for making our trip so wonderful!
