“Worst Possible Hotel”

Booked this hotel on 2/16/05. When I checked into the hotel I learned that they had running water only 3 hours in the morning and 2 hours at night. The remainder of the time you could not use the toilet. One of the residents told me that the condo association was not paying the water bill so it was being rationed.

I obviously had to spend the money to find another hotel after I had prepaid for this hotel. Little chance of getting a refund from Hotel.

This is a very old hotel. The pictures they show on various websites are about 50 years old.

Don't lose your money at this place like I did.

for misrepresenting this hotel. The hotel is not on the beach as advertised, you have to go out of the front of the hotel, cross a paved road, pass between several restaurants, to get to the beach. The rooms were spartan, the stoves in the two rooms we had were mere hotplates and barely functional (one had no knobs), A/C only in the bedroom, the elevator had a gaping hole in the floor, there was no coffeemaker in either room as advertised, the patio furniture was broken and unuseable, 80 percent of the lounge chairs around the pool were similarly broken (cracked in the center so one could not lay on them), the person at the desk was gone hours at a time and there was no one else to attend to us. We left without staying a single night and still got charged by Hotels. We will continue to fight this. Save yourself the pain and go somewhere else. If you use Hotels, buyer beware--so far they have not acknowledged my complaint except to remind me of their cancellation policy. I will submit a retraction if they own up to their responsibility for fair and accurate advertising. I have taken photos and will upload when I get a chance. Mark E. “Acapulco condo with great beach front and bay view”

Capri Suites & Penthouses

We stayed at the NIDSIDA 76 suite on the Acapulco Capri condo building. We got a lower rate than the rates for the other suites because we rented from the owner rather than renting through a company. This 7th floor condo had a terrific view of the bay. The condo was really too big for us (two adults and 3 youngsters), but the price was still lower than what we expected for a three bedroom condo. Two of the bedrooms had AC, but the children liked to sleep in the other bedroom as the see breeze through the window was bringing fond memories of our stay in Playa del Carmen last year where we camped on the beach. We saved some money by buying a few groceries in the small store on the ground floor and cooked in the kitchenette of the apartment. It's not something to cook big things, so after a while we wanted to taste good Mexican food and have some margaritas, which we found right in the same building complex. The margarita stand with a walk in bar in the mall next to the building is an unusual place to drink tequila, but saved us the hassle of taking a cab in search for an inexpensive bar. The swimming pool area was never crowded although we were told that in the Christmas holiday season the place gets full of Italian Canadians in search of warm weather (the building concierge and the former owners of the building are Italians). The building is separated from the beach by a narrow street with low traffic, which was a plus in Acapulco because the Costera Avenue can get very congested at times (so don't stay at hotels on the other side of the Costera from the beach because it'll take about 10 minutes to get a chance to cross it). The last time we were in Acapulco was on Christmas, and we don't recommend it as the street looks like New York's 5th avenue at rush hour. This time we visited during the off-season (February), and the vendors on the beach were nowhere to be seen, and the crowds were gone.As far as Acapulco, some things have improved and some remain the same. The jungle on the mountain side is gone forever, but there is far less garbage on the beach, fewer beach vendors (which were a real pest), and you get the usual things: parasailing, ski, and the likes. Don't miss the Quebrada viewing points if it's your first time in Acapulco. They offer great views of huge waves breaking on rock cliffs, and breathtaking sunsets. The cliff divers are worth seeing. We discovered a few new things like an aquarium and a dolphin show. Most of them average attractions. If I return to this place, I'll stay on the beach and enjoy the ocean view.

Its Ok...all rooms has no AC. Not good service at the front desk. My family and I were not very happy. Not very relaxing. I will stay somewhere else next time that's for sure....
