Overall I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious and well decorated. The staff were helpful and extremely friendly. If possible, get an ocean-view room (this is important). We had a room on the 7th floor which allowed for a perfect view of the blue water, white sand and all the pool goers relaxing throughout the day. Every morning was beautiful because of the view. The food and drinks were a bit pricey, but then again, food and drinks anywhere we went along the hotel zone was pricey. My only complaint has more to do with the beach rather than the hotel. Years ago, you could find wide beaches with shallow water and calm waves which made for an enjoyable soak in the warm caribbean ocean. Now, what you'll find are narrow beaches, harsh waves and huge rocks and boulders dotted all along the beach. I went in the ocean only 1 day of my entire 4 day stay because of this. This is unfortunately true of most of the beaches in the hotel zone facing east. I think there are still some nice beaches to be found, but most likely away from hotel zone....further south. Some useful info....transportation from the airport costs $12 per person if you take the shuttle. Taxi from the airport is about $40-$50 for two people (not sure if different for more than two). Taxi from the hotel to the airport is about $25 for two people. Buses are cheap (6.5 pesos per person) and a good way to get around town if you don't mind no A/C and strange people all around you. Otherwise pay $6-$9 for taxi. Whatever you do, don't go to Cong Bongo (show/disco). They advertise $50 per person, which includes admission and all you can drink at the bar. True, we were admitted. True, all you can drink....but only cheap generic liquor, and cheap generic beer. Otherwise, pay extra for even the average stuff. True, there's a show. False, no disco. There's not even enough room to walk or stand around let alone dance. The place is small. Save your $50 and go elsewhere.

If youre planning to stay here please read the following. You probably wont stretch your dollar more than at this four star hotel in Cancun. Beautiful hotel, GREAT food, nice comfortable rooms, but less than average service. It would be unfair for me to say that all of the service is bad since the bell boys, and restaurant service people were very nice and professional. The front desk clerks were another story. They seem to always be condescending and in a terrible mood. If you do visit, you will be happy with the overall amenities but be aware that the front dest service is bad.

For the second year in a row Fiestamericana Condesa was excellent. We arrived on Wednesday the 18th of June an hour early for check-in. Without even asking they let us check-in into our rooms. We had two rooms booked and they were able to complete my request of having both rooms separated from each other, they even put us in different buildings. Both rooms had a great ocean view which was what we paid for.
We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and we left on Tuesday the 24th of June. During those 6 days our rooms were clean completely, we never had a problem with the staff. We didn’t even got approached by their hotel time share sharks. The only small little issue we had was a charge for a bag of chips from the room that was like 0.60 cents in American. I notice the charge slip on the second night and I right away talked to the front desk about it and they removed the charge after I signed a form stating that I did not consume the bag of chips. So as a tip watch your bill closely for any discrepancies.

We enjoyed an 8 night stay at the Fiesta Americana Condesa - I had read other remarks, and decided to pay for the $88/day/person all inclusive. You have to take the all inclusive for a minimum of 3 days. We started with the 3 days and then added the rest of the trip. It was very worth it for us as we were in a course for part of the time, and it was a convenient way to enjoy our meals and drinks without any concern about costs. To get the all inclusive option, ask at the front desk when checking into the hotel. They did not offer it, but when we asked, they provided it, along with a list of what was included, which was pretty much everything except a few things that were noted as well on the restaurant menus. There was no guess work involved. We actually thought the quality of food and drinks at this hotel, because it was not primarily an all inclusive, was very good. I am a food snob, and thought most of the food was very well cooked, even the sushi. We tipped well to everyone, and the entire staff loved us! Big smiles, conversation, and a few dollars go a long way when travelling. We have never found nasty service people - we loved them!

Our ocean front room was large and well appointed, and the ocean was right there in front of us - big waves and all, and we enjoyed relaxing on the balcony. The only negative was our room did smell musty, and the chest of drawers was exceptionally musty. We decided to put all of our clothes in the closet, which didn't smell that bad. I was wishing I had brought an enzyme product called smoke odor stain which breaks down mildew and musty smells. I think that would have done the job as most of the smell was coming from the chest of drawers.

We walked on the beach - it wasn't the best in the world, but none of the beaches along that Cancun strip are! If you want a nice beach, go south towards Playa del Carmen or Tulum.

The hotel was a wonderful place to veg out for a few days and then have our conference for a few more days. We would go back again, but I would take my enzyme product next time to spray in the drawers.
