“WOW!”

Le Blanc Spa Resort

My wife and I spent 7 wonderful days at this resort for our honeymoon. Thanks to the reviews of this website!! I too have stayed at several all inclusives in the area, as well as resorts in the Bahamas, Puerta Vallarta, Hawaii (3 of the islands), and Jamaica. This was by far the absolute best experience that I have had.

It is true, the service is amazing! The staff truly makes you believe and feel as though "it is their pleasure" to assist you. From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave you are treated with class and dignity, not the pushy bellman style stuff you would get in a high end NY hotel where they are just trying to get your tip money. The wine somelier (sp?) is first class!

The decor has a clean, simplistic feel that is soothing and consistent with the overall theme of the resort.

The grounds are very clean! Wake up one morning early and watch how much work and care goes into the morning rituals of the grounds keepers. These guys and girls work tirelessly to make sure the guests have a pristine resort. Every towel is neatly rolled and placed precisely on the chair at the same exact place as the one in the chair next to it. The displays at the pool bars are meticulous.

The only complaint we had was that due to the tile floors, the acoustics result in your hearing the guests in the rooms above you. As a frequent traveler, I am used to noise in hotels/resorts and bring a noisemaker on all trips. Once we turned on the delicate sound of the waves crashing, which added a nice feel to the scenic views from the balcony without having to open the glass doors and welcome the humidity into the room, everything was perfect.

A suggestion to the resort is that they place noisemaker/clock radios in the rooms and have them set to the sound of gentle waves. It would cover up outside noises and the occasional sounds of construction, and be consistent with the spa feel and design of the resort.

“Amazing honeymoon”

My Husband and I spent our first week together as Husband and Wife at Le Blanc and we couldnt have asked for a better resort. We love to Travel and have been to a lot of different areas of the world- Le Blanc is by far the best resort we have ever stayed at. I went on to tripadvisor for months before our Honeymoon and read all the reviews- most of these reviews are right on-take it from me- that this resort is worth every cent!
A week wasnt enough at Le Blanc- this resort is amazing and if you are looking for a great honeymoon- Le Blanc is the spot!
The Butler- was not always at his desk- but if you called his ext. he would answer. Very nice- he would see us coming up the hall and push the button for the elevator for us- ask us if we needed anything or any special requests- daily.
The Staff- Was amazing- everybody there was so extremely nice and would do anything- i never heard anyone ever say No- to anything.... They opened the bakery for a couple we met because they wanted brownies at 330am- they made the brownies and delivered them right from the oven- The couple also said they were the best brownies ever. Antanio is the best bartender at Le Blanc- (the short Antanio)- that's what they called him. At night we loved the magic show, the fire dancers and the bar on the third level has a DJ some nights. They provide nightly enterainment- but if you are looking for a nightclub- it's not here- You will have to go to downtown Cancun for that.
The Pools- are great- always clean.
The Food- was amazing- I'm a picky eater and i loved every meal i had a Le Blanc- we would eat every day by the pool our breakfast- and then get a snack by the pool in the afternoon and at night there are three amazing resturants to chose from. We liked the Italian the best. They have a wide range of foods to pick from in every resturant- my husband dosent eat sea-food and he was more then happy with every menu.
This resort is more then a 10- we will def be going back next year for our anniversary.

“Returning to Le Blanc”

Le Blanc Spa Resort

Jun 17, 2008
15/15 found this review helpful

We stayed at Le Blanc 2 years ago for 6 nights and then went on to Secrets Capri for 9 more nights.

We liked Secrets Capri but found ourselves wishing we were back at Le Blanc.

This year we booked our entire stay at Le Blanc. (July 10-19) Review upon return.

But, here is why you should stay at Le Blanc.

People cover check-in and rooms, so I will try to cover stuff they don't.

Beach - We spent 75% of our day on loungers at the beach.
White sand, good rolling waves so that when you wade out waist deep you have to jump when the waves roll in. If you get careless and turn your back the occasional rogue wave will happily deposit you back up in the shallow water..

Day 1 losses: sunglasses, room key and a $20. Laughing so hard with my wife on our honeymoon. Priceless.

Lost sunglasses? no problem, guys walk down the beach selling those 2 for 20. See pic, I think they look good. Another thing, when your sitting in your lounger, the occasional various local will go by selling jewelry, cigars, sunglasses, etc. They will glance your way and if you simply say no or wave no, they putter right along.

Quite different than the circus of the 7th St/Ave market.

When you go down to the beach, the life gaurd will ask you "where"?
You point, he moves your lounge chairs, plants your umbrella and a little plastic table between the chairs, covers your lounger in a beach towel and then does this nifty trick when he makes another towel into a pillow. This happens everyday, without fail. Slip him a tip, he deserves it.

Beach routine: Recline in shade, read book, getting warm?,
get in water, splash in waves, Return to lounger. Rinse and repeat.

Next comes Alex, (reminded me of David A off AI) making the rounds, already with your drinks and 2 bottles of ice water.
Don't worry, you'll see him about every 20 minutes.
Even at the end of the day, if you said no more earlier, he'd bring you one more and an ice water, "just in case", you got suddenly parched like you were crossing a desert.

One of the coolest things was he brought us nachos-omg-grande around noon one day out on the beach. It was piled high with pico, guac, meat, sour cream, etc. It was soooo good.
No, We hadn't asked, or even hinted at food. He just said, "I thought you might need a snack."

Speaking of food, room service is 24hrs and its as good as any you would find in a very nice hotel.
We mostly ate dinner at the Asian place, food was awesome. Our first night we were asking a question about the appetizers and the waiter said "How about we make you a sampler platter? Pick any appetizers your interested in." How cool is that? I think we picked 3 or 4. My wife thinks the Shrimp Tempura was the bomb.

There were lots of times they went way above and beyond. For dessert, my wife asked if they had chocolate ice cream. They said no, but hold a minute. 5 minutes later our waiter returns (outta breath) with chocolate ice cream.

These things don't define your stay, but they make it unforgetable.

I believe once you have reached 5 star luxury and service, and by that I mean, premium liquer, high count sheets on very nice beds, jaccuzi tubs, glass showers with rainfall showerheads, unbelievable spa, then you have to look at other things to pick your perfect hotel and vacation.

For us, this is what mattered.
All inclusive, we didnt want to have to deal with getting a taxi to Outback Steakhouse or some other place every night.

Nice beach, this is defined as white sand, no trash, and some waves. If you read reviews on places where the water is calm, the water is hot and algea grows like crazy. Even down at Playa the sand turns to brown and once your about 3 steps out, your stepping in a muddy bottom. Eew. We really prefered white sand as far as you can see and stand in the water.

Waves - enough to make it fun and keep it cool.

Crowd - The crowd at Secrets was 20-something, mostly concerned with pool bar and drinking games, you had to "claim" your lounger early by the pool. Not for us. Nothing like getting to the pool and see a book, magazine or bag on every chair surrounding the pool. Not single person there mind you, just their stuff. At Le Blanc there were 6-8 couples on the beach during the busy times.

Service - Le blanc has a level that is just a notch above others. You will generally get anything you request, but you will always remember service you didn't ask for.

Tip: We have large DVD collection so we took one of those accordion car CD carriers and loaded it up with about 25 dvds, requested DVD player and watched movies every night after retiring to room, ordering room service, slathering on the aloe and running the AC to the "Freezer' setting.

Click the send message if you have any questions or will be at Le Blanc July 10-19.
Enjoy.

Just got back from our stay @ Le Blanc. First of all let me say this, the service was outstanding. We have been all over the Carribean to some really nice resorts but the minute you wall in they start waiting on you like your the only guest there. The pool and the view from it to the ocean was fantastic.Food was good but if you want one night out be sure to visit LaMadonna just a few blocks down.

Let me start by thanking all those who have written about this hotel. We checked this sight diligently prior to our stay.

We loved our stay at Le Blanc. We have stayed at two other Adult only Palace Resorts (Aventura Spa Palace and the Sun Palace). Since we enjoyed those so much, we wanted to upgrade to Le Blanc.

When we first arrived at the resort, it was very rainy due to the Tropical Storm. We were greeted with coconut milk and sat down with at one of the reception desks to check-in. Unfortunately, they had our reservation wrong. We paid for a Royal Honeymoon and they tried to give us a Deluxe. We explained that was unacceptable. Luckily, we brought a copy of our reservation details. They made a copy of it and put us in the appropriate room class. (Tip: Make sure you bring copies of your documents.)

Our room wasn't ready so we went to the buffet for lunch. This buffet was better than at the other Palace resorts we have visited. By the time we finished lunch, our room was ready and they took us up to met our butler and get into the room. Although the butler was supposed to be an added benefit, we found that they were often gone. Even when we tried calling, they often didn't answer. Granted, we wouldn't have gotten much use out of the butler anyway, but it would have been nice to see them at the desk more often.

We had an ocean view room on the 7th floor and the view was great!! Since the jacuzzi was so close to the window, it was great to take relaxing soak after a long day at the beach. We often enjoyed the snacks that are refilled every 24 hours.

The resort itself is beautifully decorated with a very serene decor. It also has a nice relaxing spa-like scent. The main pool on the lobby level is exquisite with iridescent blue tiles. There are chairs in the pool as well as by the edges. We never had an issue finding a place to sit. After you choose a seat, someone comes by immediately to see it you need anything. My favorite thing was that they would bring a Champaign bucket filled with ice to either the beach or the pool to keep your water nice a cold. They also come around with cold, scented wash clothes on occasion. Those were great on a hot day! They will also move the umbrellas around to suit your needs.

Spa - We received two free 25 minutes messages with our stay. Make sure to show up an hour early to take advantage of all the additional spa areas! The aromatherapy steam room was great! Since we enjoyed our first treatments so much, we signed up for more. I had the Egyptian Sun Wrap that was great. My husband got the 80-minute Four Elements message. The spa was an amazing experience!

Food - One of the biggest differences vs. the other Palace Resorts was that at Le Blanc you can eat a la carte meals for every meal. The a la carte breakfast was very good. I was able to get eggs benedict everyday! (Tip: The a la carte breakfast and lunch are at The Terrace restaurant. This particular restaurant can move depending on the weather; so if you can't find it, just ask. It was by the pool in the back for a couple of days during our visit.)

Initially, we thought Le Blanc was the same as the other Palace Resorts but the little things made such a difference! No towel cards, ice buckets, a la carte meals it all added up to a great vacation experience!
