“Excellent location and spacious rooms”

Embassy Suites Chevy Chase Pavilion

I stayed at this hotel for one night while on a business trip. This location was picked because it would be very convenient for my next morning's meeting. Check-in was quick and courteous.

The Embassy Suites usually has large rooms and this was no exception. The room was clean, well supplied with toiletries and the King-sized bed was extremely comfortable.

The included Happy Hour was okay. The service was excellent and the staff was quick to ask if there were any problems with the room or accommodations and responded quickly by reporting a wet slippery floor in the elevator right away. The snacks and wine offered at the Happy Hour were marginally appetizing.

The included Breakfast in the morning was also served with a smile and had a lot of choice of both hot and cold selections.

The only problems I had were with the internet connection. Based on my Hilton HHonors profile internet access is supposed to be be free - and it was. The problem was I had to re-enter a promotion code every hour I was connected to the Internet. Very inconvenient and annoying.

Another annoyance was a significant amount of drilling and noise taking place in the atrium of the Plaza at 10PM until about midnight. A bad time to be doing construction / repair work in what is supposed to be a quiet area at that time.

The hotel is located in the Chevy Chase Pavilion which makes it convenient to the Metro, shops and a few restaurants. The Pavilion can be a little confusing to navigate with lots of one-way escalators but the staff throughout the area was extremely helpful.

Overall an excellent place to stay.

“Happy with our choice: BUT”

Embassy Suites Chevy Chase Pavilion

My sister was visiting from Israel and we wanted a suite so that we (a senior couple) and she could all have space, privacy and, yet, be together in a convenient DC location. This was the nearly perfect solution. She was comfortable on the sofabed and we were completely satisfied with our king. True, the bathroom was in her part of the suite so there's no doubt that she was awoken when we did our middle of the night runs but, short of two bathrooms, this couldn't be helped. The included breakfast was wonderful and the rooms were nice, super clean and very attractive in a middleclass hotel mode. It wasn't luxury but it was also very comfortable if you don't mind plastic flowers in the hall and a sort of aluminum siding kind of feel. The metro entrance is directly under the hotel which is absolutely perfect . So convenient. We left our car in the underground garage for the duration of our one day stay. This brings me to the only real complaint of the visit. We paid at checkin $24. for 24 hour parking. On checkout we saw that the total charge rung up was $15.50, meaning we had overpaid by $8.50. On our arrival home I phoned the hotel and spoke with a manager who promptly and politely credited our charge card. However, caveat emptor! Little things mean a lot and I resented this little effort to squeeze some more money out of us.

This is a very nice hotel in upscale location, 10 mins on subway to downtown dc. Rooms are very stylish, large, with 2 tvs and the most comfy beds and linens. Breakfast included which was very good as well. Metro station underneath hotel, in shopping mall, easy to get around. Very safe neighbourhood with loehmans, lord taylor etc on doorstep as well as cinema and many restaurants. Staff kind and hardworking. Would have no hesitation recommending this hotel, great value for money in dc.

“Great spot to stay”

We loved the Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavillon. It was extremely clean and had been done over about a year ago. We had great breakfasts which were included in the room rate. Also attached to the hotel is a wonderful Cheesecake Factory restaurant and a small mall. The metro is in the lower level of the attached parking garage. It takes about 15 minutes to get into the city via the metro, 20 minutes if you drive. Only problem with the metro is that there are not enough stations and you end up walking alot!!!!!!!!! Great city and a great time!

Our family of five just returned from a great stay at the Chevy Chase Embassy Suites in Washington DC. The hotel came highly recommended and it STILL exceeded our expectations. Being a cynical business traveller I thought it would be hard to impress me... but honestly - the staff, facilities, food were all terrific. All members of our family agreed (Husband, children aged 4 (twins) and a 10 yr old). Other reviewers have amply stated the assets and amenities. This is a lovely, safe, beautiful hotel in a stunning neighborhood (our room overlooked Neiman Marcus, Bloomies) and lovely homes on the other side. This was a lovely respite in the throngs of spring break DC tourist season!
