This hotel was fantastic. Great price , Great Hotel. Clean, Nice large rooms, lovely bathroom, Nice Pool and Gym. The hotel staff could not do enough for you. The location was fantastic also very close to the sky train. The included breakfast was great so much choice. Next time I am in Bangkok I will definitely be staying here.

“Best all-round in Bangkok”

Holiday Inn Bangkok

We have tried many hotels in Bangkok and it is usually a compromise on price/location/facilities. This time we tried the HI Ploenchit, having spotted it on a previous trip. This may well be our preferred choice for future visits: very good indeed.

Reception/check-in was fine, rooms (we stayed here twice at beginning and end of a Far East trip) were in the newer North Executive Tower and although smaller than many other hotels were perfectly adequate and well-furnished. Bathroom was small with just a walk-in shower and no bath but fine. Everything in the room worked - tea/coffee stuff provided. There is a pool area that doesn't get sun for much of the day and it was never crowded.

We had buffet breakfast included and this had very good choices with good attentive staff. Didn't use other restaurants - so much choice in Bangkok - but had drinks in the lobby lounge which were good.

We don't spend much time at the hotel in our stays in Bangkok and the HI is brilliantly situated for the central area, very close to Central World mall, walking distance from Paragon mall via elevated walkway and only yards from the Skytrain station. Perfect!

In an ideal world I'd stay at the lovely Peninsula but the saving in money and sheer convenience of the HI will make it our first choice in future. Recommended.

“Great location & stay at HI BKK”

Holiday Inn Bangkok

4 of 5 stars
Tokyo, Japan

Just returned last night from a great 2 day stay at this property on our way back to Tokyo from Chiang Mai. We booked this property through a combination of PC point redemptions, the hotel website & agoda.com points redemption.

We are a family of 5 & booked 2 standard rooms. We were greeted & helped in the special PC section & after negotiations, upgraded to a superior room on the Exec Tower & given access to the Exec Lounge ( at a cost) for a day. We were going to be out with Tong on a BKK tour the next day & had no time nor need to access the lounge & the other benefits. Very pleased that Duty Manager was very accommodating. We had access to the lounge but chose to stay in the non executive top floor ( 15th) so we did not have to move on our second day. There was a large fruit basket delivered to both rooms. Mentioned to the agent who checked us in that it was my son's bday & they sent in a complimentary cake- not just a slice but half a cake. Much appreciated !!! WE got in at noon & given one room to store our luggages while they were preparing the kids' room. It was ready by the time we returned from lunch.

Exec Lounge was rather small with free internet access. It was empty at around 2 PM while the kids were doing their homework but could get very full at both cocktail hour & breakfast . Food choices was limited compared to our other hotels but adequate with lots of cheeses & fruit. Lots of wine/ spirits but since we are non drinkers, was no use to us. Remembered the Silom property as having more choices & cooked to order eggs at brekkie which was not available here.

Room was small but very clean & comfortable for 2 people. Our kids' room was across from us & was a little tight with the complimentary roll away. We enjoyed the Pillow Menu choices. THere was plenty of free water.

Service was spotty. Bell hop & front desk were very helpful but encountered a very inappropriate Fitness Center staff member who dismissed me when I informed him that the handles of the equipment I used needed cleaning. Wrote the Hotel Manager a letter to inform him of the incident. Awaiting a response to date. FC was small but clean & equipment was adequate for our needs. Hubby enjoyed the wet sauna a couple of times. Our youngest daughter & her dad enjoyed the pool for a quick dip.

Location is incredibly convenient allowing you to walk to many departments stores via the Sky Walk for shopping. We had stayed by the riverside on our last visit & this is more to our liking. Had just returned from Chiang Mai & with this location, it makes me think of BKK as one big Night Market. I did not even find it necessary to return to Suan Lum like I did on a previous visit as the side walk sales were more than adequate for gift giving & clothes for my teenager.

Opted not to post photos of the hotel as previous photos both on the website & other Forum members' are accurate.

Will definitely return here because of our PC membership point acquisition, the available upgrades, the location & the facilities.

“A wonderful & happy stay at the Holiday Inn Bangkok :)”

Holiday Inn Bangkok

We booked 2 rooms from the internet at THB 4000 nett without breakfast as there are 5 of us (all 5 young ladies). We stayed 3nights at the Holiday Inn Bangkok. We are happy that they reserved the connecting rooms for us even though we check in at 3am.

The hotel location is superbly centralised and there are many big shopping malls (Siam Paragon, Central, Gaysorn, Erawan, Pratunam, etc) along the street and the famous 4 faced-buddha is just opposite the hotel. The skytrain station is also about 3 mins walk from the hotel using the skywalk. And it's near to a lot of night markets (Suan Lum, Silom, Patpong, etc) and weekend markets (Chatuchak).

We arrived the hotel about 3am but we were refreshed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. There's always a smiling attendant at the lobby entrance who never fails to open the door & greet you. They are very nice as they able to speak English and guide us to our shopping destination. They even warned us to look after ourselves and our handbags when shopping. They even told us that it is safer to take the Meter Taxi as the price is cheaper than Tuk-Tuk and taxi is more comfortable. And make sure that you tell the driver the hotel name carefully as there are 2 Holiday Inn there. This one is located at Ploenchit and the other is at Silom.

The hotel lobby were gorgeous and modernly designed. The corridor to our rooms were brightly lit. Although the lifts might be a bit small, but we didn't have any problems with it. The toilets were very clean and new.

The rooms are medium sized but comfortably organized. The beds are so comfy that we slept sweetly. There is also a Pillow Menu for you. I ordered 2 Latex Pillows at about 4am and the housekeeping still deliver to us happily. What a great service!

Although breakfast is not included in our room package, we decided to try out the breakfast buffet too. The food spread was very good ranging from Thai, Western, Chinese & Japanese food. And the service was 1st class. We were happy to pay THB 530nett per person for such a tasty and health breakfast!

You will not regret staying at this wonderful hotel and I wished that I can stay longer at the Holiday Inn Bangkok. I'll surely return back for more wonderful memories!

“Holiday Inn- Great location, good service”

Holiday Inn Bangkok

5 of 5 stars
Brisbane
Feb 20, 2008

Stayed at the Holiday Inn over the Christmas period, was located in a very convenient place ie. right in the city centre, minutes walk away from Central World shopping plaza and 10 min walk from Siam Paragon shopping plaza (2 of the most impressive shopping plazas I've ever seen). Located right on the main street where the sky train goes up and down, about 50m from the skytrain station.

Checkin was pretty quick. Not the most extravagent lobby but for me, the room itself and the location matter most.

The bellhops/doorman/concierge seemed to be very knowledgable on all aspects of Bangkok ie. restaurants, tourist attractions etc.

The room itself is a good size, not the biggest but comfortable for 2 people sharing a room. Everything was new, the bed and bathroom were all new looking with bathroom (seperate shower)and bed all large and comfortable and you can choose from several types of pillows to have (I changed mine every day).

Overall, I'd recommend this place for it's location, the hotel itself is just as it advertises (4 stars), but once again location is 5 stars.
