“Great value”

Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport

4 of 5 stars
London, England
May 10, 2008

Very comfortable beds. In fact the best I've ever had in any hotel including the Oriental in Bangkok. Great airport transfers and very fast check-in. The corridors smell a bit damp on the 2nd floor but the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Excellent bathrooms with windows (and shutters) into the sitting room.

Room service is a bit expensive but quick and the only drawback is that the mini-bar doesn't stock spirits which is a bit strange.

The bar is good and the Japanese resturant is very good if a bit quick. The Terriaki Eel is highly recommended.

Checkout is very fast and there is a 24 hour money changing desk. All in all a very good stop over after a long flight from the UK - and not expensive.

“Top Stay”

Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport

Melbourne, Australia

Stayed one night for our early morning flight back to Australia. The shuttle is easy to find at the airport & runs conveniently. The 2 minute ride stops at the impressive atrium entrance which was matched with speedy check in.

Our room was clean & spacious with the bath well used making the stay all the more relaxing with a massive bed.

The spa and pool area is very welcoming with the spa being a big hit offering ambience & relaxation.

Dinner saw an abundance of choice with us choosing the buffet & being very impressed by the taste, choice & price.

I will stay again should I need to stay near the Suvarnabhumi airport.

“Nice hotel, FANTASTIC spa”

Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport

5 of 5 stars
Trophy Club, Texas
May 1, 2008

Our flight arrived into Bangkok late in the evening and we would depart for Koh Samui the next afternoon, so going all the way into town seemed silly. So, we stayed at the airport's hotel and were glad we did.

A representative was outside customs at Gate 4, Level 2 as promised and directed us to the shuttle, which ran us over to the lobby entrance (the hotel is just a minute or two away inside the "circle" of the airport terminal highway).

There was a jazz group playing in the bar of the lobby and the facilities were top notch. Very impressive, compared with some other Novotel properties I have stayed in Europe that were just average.

The room was very nice, with all the amenities. We were prepared for a hard bed, but did not have any issues with it.

The best part, though, were the spa facilities, which were FANTASTIC and we thoroughly enjoyed our 90 minute couple's massage. We have been to spa facilities around the world and this one ranks up in the top 3 we've visited.

Be sure you get breakfast included in your room rate. It was a wide selection of various culture's breakfast items from American to European to Eastern, with lots of fresh fruits and yogurt for those watching their diet. Don't sleep in, though...we got there about 10:00 and they were pulling things down for the lunch buffet.

There is also a nice courtyard in the center of the hotel to relax in the open air and listen to the myna birds. Tai chi anyone?

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — The spa facilities and the overall decor...very nicely appointed hotel.
    • Disliked — Too far from town to use as a vacation location, but PERFECT for transit through BKK.

“Great place to stay enroute...”

Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport

4 of 5 stars
Los Angeles, California
Apr 27, 2008

I stayed overnight here enroute to Yangon. On the advice of other reviewers, I booked on the executive floor, which gives one free Internet and access to the Business Center. It was definitely worth the upgrade (as I recall it wasn't much more expensive than the regular rate). The business center allows one to avoid the reception check-in line (a factor in my case, as I arrived around midnight and seemingly half the folks on my plane were also checking into the hotel). It also has its own breakfast room and complimentary cocktails and aperitifs (which I didn't sample). The room was large anhd very comfortable, with a large bathroom. The cosmetics weren't quite up to par (conditioner left my hair completely tangled) but that's a small price to pay for the quiet and comfort that the hotel provided. I also had no complaints about the shuttle, for which I waited less than 3 minutes both from and to the airport. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel if you are in transit and don't want to go into the city.

“Pleasant surprise!”

You don't necessarily expect an airport hotel to be as luxurious and wonderful as this one. The pool area is beautiful, and the spa was fantastic, and much less expensive than other Bangkok luxury hotels like The Peninsula. Also, the spa is open until midnight, which is so convenient for travelers. The restaurant was OK - we had an incident with underdone chicken, but otherwise was satisfactory. The room was very nice and the staff helpful, but the SPA was the star of our stay. I would definately schedule a stopover here if you are flying through Bangkok to other Asian destinations. It helps to regroup, and get a massage before heading to less opulent surroundings (if that is your itinerary). But even if you stay in Bangkok, if you have an early flight, the Bangkok traffic can threaten your sanity, so just stay here and you will have a quick five minute trip to Suvarnabhumi on their 24/7 shuttle.
