The Kahramana hotel firstly is a fantastic location. Right in the buzz of Naama Bay. No need to worry though as not noisy at all as you are far away enough from the hustle and bustle of the Main strips to get peace and quiet, apart from at the weekends when the hotel has a DJ on who's music is ok but a bit loud. Not that we are a couple of old fuddy duddie's far from it however we did behave like that as so exhausted at night from all our daytime activities we in bed quite early some nights!!!!
The rooms are basic and in need of modernisation. I suppose it is a 3 star hotel and can't expect too much. They have everything you need and are kept clean. We did however have a problem with our 1st room as the bathroom smelt like a mans public toilet. The stentch of urine was bad not because the room was'nt clean we think there was a hole in the pipe. After a little persistence our room was changed the next day to a urine free zone with a better view.
The pool area was nice and the little pool guy Hassan was very friendly actually all the staff at hotel were nice. We feel it's nice to give a little tip of a couple of pounds to the staff every few days ie. the pool guy and the maid.
We were on bed and breakfast basis which was fine as breakfast was good however sometimes the lovely smells from the main meal at night was very tempting and sometimes wished we were all inclusive however as you are so near all the restaurants we were glad we weren't all inclusive as we were able to sample high quality local restaurants at reasonable prices.
We done some research and a lot of people recommended Kanabesh. While we found the food to be excellent the service was not quite the same standard. We had been there earlier in the week. Great food gave them the benefit of doubt on service and went back on our last night. After not having been acknowledged by waiters for 25 mins we walked out. we know it's a more laid back culture but found them very rude as didn't even gesture to say they would be over to our table shortly. We then went to Viva beach restaurant accross from Kanabesh and the staff were the opposite welcoming and friendly. The location was fab right on the beach with a great ambience and great food.
All in all we had a fab holiday loads to do. Diving , snorkelling, boat trips, excursions or simply just relaxing.
Word of advice take an antibacterial hand wash to use after handling money as it can be very dirty. We were caught out by this and got a bit of a tummy bug. Didn't ruin our hol though.

Stayed at the Kahramana Hotel in the 3rd week of march 2008, expecting the temp to be about 25, but infact got caught in a heat-wave of 30-36 degrees all week.

The hotel staff are nice enough, their english was a little poor, but always got the message though in the end.

We went B&B which i highly recommend, as the breakfasts were lovely, good choice from breads to cold meats, salad, cereral and the best of all were the freshly made omlettes and choc pancakes!

The hotel is just steps away from the Naama bay strip, and there is so much choice of places to eat, and the prices are resonable, so dont stay in the hotel at night, it would be a waste.

The rooms are nice, a little dated, but what does this matter? they are comfortable, good air con and shower is powerful even if it doesnt look it! clean towels and beds made every day.

There is always matainence work going on, (quitely) in the background, so they are trying very hard to make this hotel as nice as they can. (cleaning, painting, tidying the flowers)

The best thing about this hotel is the location, right on the strip of naama bay, at first the strip seems a little tacky, bright lights, music, mock Egpytian buildings, but just enjoy it, the options for places to eat from TGI Fridays to local Shisha bars, and everything else inbetween.

I recommend walking down to the parade along the beach is you want something a little quieter, again lots of choice and can have a romantic meal on the beach!

The only thing that i didnt like about the kahramana was the music by the pool. on the 1st day it was played quitely, which tricked me into thinking the other reviews i had read about the music on here were wrong....day 2 and onwards, the music started about 10.30, and got louder and louder, untill you just had to leave. this is all down to one guy who fanices himself beyond belief. the (dj) loves putting on the euro cheese music for himself and the impress the russian girls into the pool. and he just gets cocky and the music gets louder. i really enjoyed the early silence, just chilling by the pool, enjoying the sun. but on one day the music was so loud, i put my ipod on full volume to drown him out, but could still here the awful euro pop beat over my own music. at this point we went down to the hotels beach (viva) where they were playing jack johnson quitely in the background.

i would definalty go back to sharm/naama bay again, and would go back to the kahramana again if they sacked the DJ.

Hubby + I stayed half-board here one night. When we arrived @ 0900 from the airport, (We had booked this on-line)They did not inform us that we had to lug our luggage from the road to the hotel due to security. They made us wait over half an hour for our room as it was not ready when all I wanted to do was leave the luggage + go check out Naama Bay . Finally got my message thru with no room ready still. Very sterile + reception was not even aware that it was my hubby's birthday the next day. Not even a word of greeting in that respect. Rooms clean. Food was buffet dinner + buffet breakfast. Loads of Russians. Position, it was great:(That was why I chose this place.) Next day reception couldn't help us regarding the public bus for DAHAB. We did it ourselves.

This hotel is in a great location at the end of Naama Bay, far enough away from the action to be quiet but close enough to walk to everything. Great private beach 5 minutes walk from hotel with free towels and sunbeds. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Staff extremely polite and helpful. Pool and other facilities clean and well maintained. Our room was a little scruffy, particularly the bathroom, but I don’t think this was typical. Our biggest gripe was the volume of the music in the restaurant/bar late at night which resonates around the enclosed pool area and is quite deafening at times, even in your room. If this is likely to worry you ask for a room at the back rather than overlooking the pool. The view might not be so good but you may get a better night’s sleep. Overall though a good experience.
