Just back from a week at The Corners St George… What a week.
All I can say is Chav Hell!!!
Have been to Sharm 6 times over the past 5 years and this has to be the worst hotel I have stayed in !!
Good points
Yes the hotel is spotlessly clean
The staff go out of there way to make you feel welcome (they do have an a motive for it though) They will hassle you on the last few days when you are going home handing out pieces of paper with there name on and the address for trip adviser please give us good reviews and say my name, will be good for me and keep my job safe…Blackmail!!
Wonder why this hotel scores so well in the ratings
Pascal restaurant is amazing eat here 2 nights and the food was fantastic with nice views over the pool you have to pay extra but worth it
The bad points
The hotels is on a busy dual carridge way with constant road noise, half the rooms over look this.
The hotel is next to a large water treatment works which is noisy and can be heard all day and night. Makes eating in the open air so pleasant!
Rooms are clean but very basic by 4* Sharm standards
The hotel has 2 pools, sun beds crammed in like Sardines in a can. If you are up after 8.30 am forget getting a bed round the pool!!
Hotel beach is nice but again get up early !! the hotel runs a shuttle bus to the beach every 30 mins from 9.30-12.30 but it only has 20 seats on it- do the sums-hotel takes 600 guests and the bus takes 20 at a time !!!
Food is ok but very hit and miss. The buffet restaurants is more like a works/school canteen with no atmosphere and very harsh lighting
Breakfast is the best meal of the day with plenty of choice fresh omelettes cooked to order along with very tasty fried eggs plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, cheeses and continental meats
Only had lunch at the hotel 1 day and that was ok
Dinner’s ok food often cold or luke warm but they do there best if you like salads etc, you will be fine. Plenty of choice and really fresh and with taste.
Food at the beach restaurant is very poor plus they only have seating for about 50 max at a time and the beach is shared with the Kirosez hotel so gets very busy so they often run out of food by 1.30 so eat early if you can!!! Our favourite meal at the beach restaurant must the spaghetti and liver pie, spaghetti mixed with chopped liver topped with pastry…..odd, bizarre.
All in all these hotel is far from a 4* more a 2/3*
If it’s your first time to Sharm and you are used to Benidorm, Magaluf or 1 of the other party resorts in the Med then you will love it
If you want a hotel that shows you some of the real charm of Egypt then book elsewhere!!
