Have just returned from a two week stay at the Mirabel Beach. What can I say but this hotel is the best I have been to in Sharm. This was my third visit to Sharm and I had this hotel recommended to me on my last visit. After having read many bad reviews on this hotel I was a bit dubious to say the least. I can only say that people who have submitted bad reviews cannot possibly have stayed at this hotel and they must have stayed at either the Mirabel Club or Park.

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by friendly staff who quickly sorted our details out and showed us where our room was. We had only been at the room a couple of minutes when our luggage arrived. After this the holiday just got better and better. The staff went out of their way to ensure that you wanted for nothing. The hotel was very clean and staff were always making sure that everything was kept to the standard you would expect of a 5 star hotel. The food was very good with plenty of variety at every meal and with a different theme each night you could never get bored.

As for the bar staff what can I say but Fantastic. No matter which of the bars you were at you never had to wait to be served. Even at the pool bars the bar staff would come round to see if you wanted a drink (and not just once without a tip but a few times a day)

The bar my partner and I preferred was the Oriental Flair as it was the air conditioned one with an outdoor terrace. This bar had decent entertainment most nights except for the beach party nights. It also had the best two waiters Mohamed and Samey who made sure your glass was never empty.

On the whole I would recommed this hotel to anyone going to Sharm and would definately go back again in the near future.

Best bits the hotel, bar staff and all the other staff - Worst bits coming home

“The Best Holiday EVER!!!”

Me and my fiance have just returned from a week at the Jaz Mirabel Beach. We traveled with Thompson. First impressions of this hotel were amazing! Much better than the pictures! We arrived at night, The water fountain outside was all lit up and the reception was welcoming with candels, huge pillars and marble floors. The hotel rooms were fantastic, very spacious and contemporary. Air con worked great and the shower was lovley. Our cleaner was very thorough and made a snake an a swan for us out of towels! We got our all inclusive bands straight away so we went straight down to the bar for cocktails......I would recommend Hurricanes and Gumbas they were great! I tended to stick to these two drinks and the odd glass of rose wine. The local beer is really nice too, I like a nice shandy so that was good. If you like you G & T or Vodka I would recommend buying some in the airport on the way out as they aren't very nice from the hotel. The non alcoholic coctails and soft drinks were also nice. The drinks service was great we had drinks brought to us on the beach constantly and the service in the hotel bars was also great.

Moving on to the food which was an important factor for me as I love to eat and i'm not affraid to try new things. The breakfast was good, they don't eat pork over there so the bacon and sausage were made with beef. The beans weren't heinze but were taisty non the less. My favorite part of the breakfast were the omolette's which were cooked fresh in front of you with your choice of filling, they were great. The bread was also very fresh and there was a good choice of cerial. Downside would be the fruit as it didn't seem very fresh probably because it's souch a hot country. The orange and pineapple juice was nice but it was more like a fruit squash than a juice.
Lunch time for me and my fiance was mainly spent at the snack bar near the beach, We tried most things on the menu but tended to stick to the burgards and pizzas which were really nice. I didn't think much of the pasta but the apple pie is a winner it was fab. You can also have lunch in the buffet resturant which we didn't do as it broke up the day a little eating somewhere different.
We ate in the resturant 4 out of the 7 nights the food was ok. There was always something I liked on the buffet which was good but there wasn't a great variety. My fave was the fresh pasta which they cooked in front of you with your choice of veg, bologneise ect. We had a free pass to eat at one of the a la carte resturants we chose the lebanise it was fantastic, We had 4 startes between us, a main course of skewerd meat with rice, desert and all of the drinks were free!
Overall I thought the food was good.
Entertainment- Didn't really bother with the entertainment however' I did go to the beach party witch was great and my fiance was really pleased to know that they has football at 3.30 everyday. There was music around the pools which was nice. The pool and beach area's were fantastic, very clean and well maintaind. The beach was lovley too and by 1pm the sea water was the temperature of a warm bath! We went out to the ship wrek which was a 30 min walt out to sea, Watch out for the sea urchins and don't go out if it is too windy. You need a pair of water shoes and a snorkel to make the most of it. We snorkeled around the wrek it was amazing..............full of tropical fish and coral. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. My fiance and I had the best time ever, Already wasn't to go back!

Top Tip - Go to Little Buddah in Naama Bay and have the lamb cutlets £12! Amazing!!!!!!!

“Brilliant Hotel”

Jaz Mirabel Beach

Jun 12, 2008

Been back a couple of weeks now from a two week stay and am really wishing I was still there. I was impressed with the hotel from the second we arrived untill we left.

The hotel itself is very well presented and couldnt be cleaner, there are people cleaning and attending the gardens constantly

We were given a family room which was quite large and more than enough room for the two of us.

We are quite late risers but even going down to the pool at 11am we were allways able to find plenty of sunbeds with shade, which you will need as its so hot even when we were out there early season. There were even more sun beds down at the beach you can easliy find a sun bed at any time down there. The sea is very shallow untill very far out and full with Coral so if you want to go in the sea make sure you get some sea socks.

The food is good to average in the main buffet. However you must try the al a carte restauraunts especially the Lebanese which is absolutley fantastic, whts more if you go with Thompson you get 1 meal free in any of the a la carte restauraunts.

The hotel Staff are fantastic and couldnt do more for you. However the second week we were there was school holidays and it got a lot busier. We could notice a drop in service but probably only about twice in the whole holiday and nothing major, if we waited more than 5 mins we just got up and went to the bar oursleves.

I did get a stomach upset but there is a onsite pharmacy you can go to which will give you something to get rid of that quite quickly.

All in all a briliant Holiday, the only down point being coming home (you will not enjoy Sharm airport its a shambles)

Would even consider going back

“Fantastic Honeymoon”

Jaz Mirabel Beach

Jun 10, 2008

We stayed at the Jaz Mirabel Beach for 2 weeks for our Honeymoon. The Hotel is pretty much immaculate, fab room which was a good size with a balcony, beautiful grounds, great pools, spotlessly clean everywhere, nice restaurants, friendly and helpful staff, especially the reception and guest relation staff. We had a complimentary bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine in our room when we arrived. We ate in the A la carte Italian restaurant which was very good, Thomson reps gave us a voucher for one free a la carte meal so we didn't have to pay. The room cleaner was very efficient and whenever he saw us always asked if everything was ok with the room (a tip here and there is appreciated as they are not well paid) he made us several different things out of towels such as a swan, a snake, a boat and even a crocodile! We both got the Egyptian tummy bug which was very unpleasant and I had to have the hotel doctor visit the room and was given 2 injections which did the trick and within a day I felt much better, my Husband had some medication from the hotel pharmacy which took a bit longer to work and he was making regular visits to the toilet for 3-4 days. I wouldn't want to blame the Hotel for the illness, but I would recommend that you steer clear of the salads because we think they were washed in the local water which is not safe to drink (Reps told us all the salads were washed in mineral water but not sure that this is the case to be honest) Once we both stopped eating salads we both recovered, could be a coincidence but who knows? Anyway, no need to dwell on that point because it didn't ruin our holiday at all, we did some fab excursions, especially Cairo by air and desert quad biking. We also did the Red Sea Cruise but to be honest you could see just as many, if not more tropical fish in the sea near the hotel, if you walk onto the hotel beach and turn left and keep walking for about 10-15 mins you'll get to a bay and the fish there are AMAZING, just make sure you get the snorkel gear and shoes from one of the local shops. Overall, we very much enjoyed our Honeymoon and this is a really great hotel.

“Great Hotel but overall a letdown”

Jaz Mirabel Beach

Jun 9, 2008

Quick Overview:

+ Lovely Hotel, stunning grounds and very nice rooms.

- Ruined in part by the daytime entertainment.

Its the morning after our Holiday and i just thought id share some thoughts and comments about the Mirabel. Il break it down into sections and try to give honest, unbiased opinions.

HOTEL: On arrival i was gobsmacked at how beautiful the place is. The design and finsh of the lobby and two bar areas is top end and very nice to look at. The grounds of the hotel probably cover getting on for a half sqaure mile and is alot bigger than the pictures in the travel brochures would have you believe. It is all imaculate and suprisingly lush considering the unrelenting heat.

We were given a family room which i think is slightly larger than a normal double we booked. Aside from a wobbly tap there were no problems at all. The house cleaning staff were friendly and efficient. God bless air con.

Swimming pools were all nice and clean and pretty big. Within a stones throw of the all important bars as well. Loads of sun loungers were available - but the inevitable towl brigade made sure they reserved the best plots every day.

The beach is right at the foot of he hotel and also has loads of sun beds. Sand is quite rough and full of broken coral. Beach shoes are a must. The water was uncomfortably warm, almost bath like and not really a refreshing break from the sun. The pools are alot cooler.

ENTERTAINMENT:
For us the part that ruined our holiday.
The daily "animation" team have a love for loud dance music. Now dont get me wrong, i love going clubbing as much as the next person, but what they do at the mirabel is just criminal. Central to the pool area is a huge sound system that absolutely blares out the same crappy euro dance music day after day. I really cant emphasise in typing just how loud they had it sometimes. No chance to relax and read a book by the pool ( or the beach - the bass thumps through the sand ).
I did have a word with the thompson rep, Steve, and to his credit the issue was resolved - but only for one whole day. After that the good old animation crew cranked the volume up and ruined things.
Make of my views as you will, but if you in anyway want a nice quiet holiday id suggest going somewhere else as the mirabel is noisy all day and evening. The rooms dont even act as a retreat from the noise.
Evening entertainment is OK - good for kids and familys.
They do a bingo night each week and to play you have to pay 30 egyptian pounds ( 3 quid ). I told the animation guy that we didnt want to play and that we didnt have any cash on us anyway ( all inclusive - why carry cash?? ) and the cheaky sod told me to go and get some!

STAFF:
All in all not a bad bunch of people.
The bar staff are very polite and attentative. Full marks to them.
The restaurant staff are slighty different. I found the almost intrusive sometimes. They are always trying to be funny by cracking jokes that really arent funny and by mimicking the english language. One chap kept calling me "geezer" which was irritating! They wernt all like that though.
The other downside to the staff are the people walking about trying to sell you things all day long. A typical day on the beach would probably involve 6 or 7 attempts from people to sell you papers, magazines, massages, trips etc... and it isnt easy to get rid of them politely.
Oh and the guys in the restaurant love staring at ladys "assets" - so if your bothered about that sort of thing its worth remembering!

FOOD
Uninteresting and everything tasted the same just in different incarnations. There was a farily wide range though and they did chips a few times - so thats most brits happy!
I cant say how or what caused it but both my partner and i were violently ill whilst away. I spoke to a few other couples from the UK and they were telling similar stories. I was in bed for a whole day and my partner suffered similarly another day.

So thats about it; We wont be going again but thats not to say that this Mirabel isnt ideal for alot of people. Reading some of the other reviews on here i can see that most are positive and perhaps the Hotel is more suited for familys that arent too fussed about noise etc..

If anyone wants to know anything else contact me at john_sav1@hotmail.com
