“Just perfect”

El Patio Motel

What a perfect trip we had thanks to the staff (Sarah and George) in particular were brilliant. My boyfriend had been in touch and with their help organised a romantic proposal and I cannot thank them enough for their recommendations. They are more than happy to recommend restaurants and bars etc.
The hotel room was lovely, clean and bright, and thank God for the air con. Yes, the bathroom maybe a little small, but who spends a great deal of time in there when there is Key West to explore. The pool area was brilliant and a great place to chill out. The court yard was really pretty and the roof terrace was great to have a drink on at night and watch the stars. No noise at night, nor cock crowing in the mornings. If there was one criticism it is that i had to go home.

I have no complaints at all and nothing but praise for this little gem of a place. Hopefully I will return soon for a honeymoon.

Just returned from a 15 Days Trip to Florida where we,Company of 4, stayed for 2 Days in this Key West Origin :-))

Ben there for the 4th Time within 12 Years and NOTHING in there has canged since then....

The Staff was VERY FRIENDLY to us and we immediately got 2 Rooms Nr.14 and 15 which we had to pay USD 75,- each fot a Night what is absolutely awesome for KW ( was Wednesday till Friday)

Price, Location,Charme, Staff was absolutely Gorgeos.

Whta you have to know is, that the Bathrooms are SMALL and the Floor is Linoleum, not Carpet.
Looks and is abit old BUT CLEAN ! Was NO Problem for us belongs to the Atmosphere and fits PERFECTLY to KW .

Lots of Plants and a Roof Terrace complete the posiitve Character of this Juwel.

Go there, get your own impression and decide.... for 2-3 Nights PERFECT if you are not Mr/Ms PERFECT..:-))

“Excellent Atmosphere”

$150/night during the week end, I loved the place, we stayed 2 days. If you look for a palace don't go there, bed, rooms ... are standard. But if you look for a nice place to stay and meet very friendly people from the US or from other coutries this is a very good place. Nice & cute swiming pool, very nice penthouse at the top of the hotel to eat and enjoy your own beers and food. Warm and friendly place. Lovely.
Excellent atmosphere!

“BEST VALUE IN KEY WEST”

El Patio Motel

Let me just say that at know time did I have any problems with Palmetto bugs. Having said that, I must disclose how pleased I was with my last visit. The El Patio sits a few blocks off Duval street in a quiet neighborhood. It is well removed from all of the action, a mile away, and one can actually get a night's sleep here, which is rare for Key West! If you are looking for luxury, keep looking. If you are looking for a quaint Art Deco motel, with original Cuban tiles, that is squeaky clean..look no further! The whole place has had a fresh coat of paint since the last time I was there, and is better than ever. The court yard is lush and tropical, and there is a rooftop deck to enjoy a cold beer on. The pool is covered in a canaopy of Bougonvilla, and is very romantic and secluded. The staff are helpful, although the front desk folks can be a bit labile at times. The manager actually took a piece of trash out of my hand and threw it away himself, as I was looking for a trash can! at $155 (tax included) for two bedrooms and three adults, this place is a steal for Key West! I can't wait to come back. May it be here another 50 years. ~Kevin Welch

“Too far/Palmetto bugs”

El Patio Motel

2 of 5 stars
fort lauderdale
May 20, 2008

When we first walked in and looked around we all said to one another awwwwww isn't this place cute?? Until I walked into the back bedroom and saw a PALMETTO bug as long as my pinkie(almost 2 inches long) on its back on the floor. After we disposed of that one and went to bed with the lights on, cuz we all know those DISGUSTING things come out at night in the dark..my husband got up to use the bathroom and he looked over his shoulder and saw a brown spot on the shower wall, he thought it was a rust spot but got up close and it was another disgusting palmetto bug the same size. I woke up to his shoe banging the bathtup about 5 times to make sure it was killed. We did complain to the front desk, but they pretty much disregarded our complaint.

The room was also very bright the blinds were white and the sun came pouring in the room in the early morning not only making it bright but also making it HOT...so they definately needshade coverings so you can sleep a little later than 7:00am and so the room can stay kewl....cuz the air conditioners are from the 1960's.
