Overall, the hotel property was average for a full service facility. The decor was nice and the business area was also appealing and contemporary. The lady that worked the coffee shop was really nice and helpful. As someone stated in a previous review, this lady should work the front desk because it could use a person with her attitude.
My problem started at check-in. I was traveling with a group from my Army Reserve Unit and had made the reservation via the internet. One of the persons in my group turned out to be a "no show". With this, I was informed that I would be charged one night for the "no show" because I made the reservation and guaranteed it with my personal credit card. Now because I am a Hilton Honors Gold member who stays with the Hilton brand at least 40 nights a year, I thought that I could be given a little leniency and have the charge waived. Besides, my group was traveling on official military business. Wrong! I left the hotel feeling like they had no interest in helping me resolve this issue because I could never get in contact with anyone above front desk clerk who would allow me to plead my case. Oh there was a manager working one morning who told me that there was a 24 hour cancellation policy when in fact there wasn't. The website states that you must cancel by 4pm on day of arrival.
I had to call and place a complaint via the HH guest services line.
All in all, I have never stayed at a hotel with a group of front desk personnel as unaccomodating. I won't go into details about the verbal altercation between someone in my group and a desk worker (in front of other guests). Finally, my issue was not with the charge (I failed to cancel in time) but with the way the situation was handled.
