“A week of pure luxury”

Fairmont Kea Lani Maui

Our week at the Fairmont Kea Lani on the South Beach of Maui was absolute perfection. The rooms are all suites with huge marble bathrooms and separate living rooms. Each morning started with a delicious and sumptuous breakfast buffet. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Any request we made was immediately fulfilled. We especially enjoyed the beautiful grounds and the pathway along the beach which connected the hotel to the other hotels in the area. We also enjoyed watching from afar the weddings which seemed to occur almost every evening, beachside. There is a separate children's pool. Fresh pineapple and cool wash cloths were distributed by the pool staff at the adult pool. I can't wait to return!

My husband and I had the privilege of staying at the Fairmont for 5 luxurious nights the 2nd week of June. I can't say enough about this resort. Everything was as expected and more. We experienced only one slight snafu at check-in (the room type I had reserved was only available for 3 of the 5 nights) and the manager on duty quickly upgraded us to a corner suite which had panoramic views of the mountain, beach and pools - it was absolutely breathtaking! The suite itself was more than comfortable and in my opinion nicely decorated in a Hawaiian theme. Housekeeping was exemplary and the bathroom amenities wonderful. I would stay at the Fairmont again, without a doubt.

“Five Stars?! NO WAY!!”

We were so disappointed with the quality and cleansiness of the rooms. The grounds were beautiful, the pools are great, service was good, but the rooms are in desperate need of remodel/upgrade! This hotel is not five-star caliber. The carpet was filthy, the sofa smelled, and our room had a bad odor to it. We did complain and requested a room change. Our new room was not any better. It was the same!! Also, we had company of a few "friends" in our room...cockroaches! UGH! Do yourself a favor and stay at the Four Seasons Resort. Wish we did!!

“A wonderful place for a honeymoon!”

We stayed here for a week for our honeymoon in October. When we were picking a hotel, we were debating between the Fairmont and Four Seasons and the Grand Wailea. Ultimately, we chose the Fairmont for a variety of reasons, some based on our friends' recommendations who have stayed at all three. What won us over was the fact that all of the rooms at the Fairmont were suites with a front sitting room and a separate bedroom. It was great to come back to our room at the end of a day at the beach or at the pool and relax in our room without having to jump into the bed.

The bathroom is GORGEOUS. I've seen New York apartments that could fit in there! It's wonderfully appointed and the soaps, etc are absolutely refreshing.

The service at the hotel is amazing. We were greeted with cool towels, juice and leis - tremendously relaxing and welcome after a long long flight! Everyone, from the room service and cleaning staff, to the bartenders and front desk staff, were amazing and friendly. They are SO good with honeymooners - everyone kept calling me Mrs. LastName - it was so fun.

The dining options at the hotel are also fantastic - pricey (but what isn't in Maui), but delicious. We spent one night just restaurant/bar hopping at the hotel and had a great evening.

The Fairmont beach is FANTASTIC - heads and shoulders above some of the others in Wailea, mostly because it is exclusive and doesn't get a lot of the public beach traffic that many of the other beaches have. It doesn't have some of the amenities as some of the others do (padded lounge chairs on the beach, guys with sunscreen greeting you before you hit the sand, etc) - but for the privacy, it's worth it. There is also great snorkling right off the beach and you can rent gear right from the hotel. We went out a few times.

Whatever option you choose, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful time in Maui!

“wouldn't stay anywhere else!!!!”

my husband and i booked our trip throught costco and got a really great deal. about 3 days after i booked it costco called to tell us that the adult pool was going to be closed for resurfacing. i was a bit peeved as this was our belated honeymoon and the adult pool was a plus. i called the fairmont directly and spoke to a manager and he was awesome. he upgraded us from ocean view to deluxe ocean view. this was just the start to the incredible service we were treated to.

upon arrival we were greated with juice and cold towels. the open air lobby was a siht for sore eyes looking out onto the beautiful grounds and clear blue ocean. everyone working there was so friendly starting with the bellman who brought our bags to the room. the manager who we had spoke to several times before arrival had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in our very clean and inviting suite with an amazing view from everywhere in the room. the bed and pillows were absolutely comfy. the bathroom was sper roomy, with double pedstal sinks and a huge open walk in shower. every suite has an expansive lanai.

so even though the adult pool was closed the other pool was lovely. polo beach was private and terrific. the lobby bar was great for sunset watching. i think we lucked out and the hotel was only about half full so it seemed we were almost doted on. our waitress at the excellent buffet breakfast remembered our name after the first day. the alhoa spirit was all over this place.

it is not cheap but we went and looked at the four seasons, grand wailea and the big hotels in kaanapali and for the money i wouldn't stay anywere else. it was magical and truly hard to leave.
