St Andrews is popular for families and offers a wide variety of family activities. If the weather is fair one of the most popular attractions are the beaches. The two main beaches are the East and West sands. The West Sands is the more popular of the two runs between the sea and the St Andrews Links golf courses. The West Sands is popular with surfers and kite flyers.
Adjacent to the beach, heading towards the golf courses, The Himalayas is an 18 hole putting area which is popular with families. The Himalayas is open from April to October.

Cairnie Fruit Farm and Outdoor Maze – located just outside Cupar (8 miles from St Andrews). In the summer the farm offers 6 acre outdoor maze, go karting, trampolines and swings. The farm is ideally suited for kids up to 16 years and adults can also browse the farm shop our pick your own strawberries and raspberries. The maze is open from July 10th to the end of September. Craigtoun Country Park – situated two miles south west of the city centre, the park includes a miniature railway, picnic areas and a boating lake. Opens April to September. Tel: 01334 473666
St Andrews Aquarium - located next to the West Sands and ideal for a day out when the weather is not so good.
