Fabulous pizzas at Mozza, lively atmosphere, hip urban decor in brick and charcoal colors, and comfortable chairs. Friendly and efficient wait staff. Definitely worth seeking out. It took 3 tries to get in; finally called a month in advance for reservations at 5:30 pm on a Saturday, but the wait was worth it. Arrived promptly at 5:30 pm but weren't seated until 5:55. A complimentary burrata cheese appetizer (soft mozzarella) drizzled with pesto was served with apologies for the wait. 17 pizzas on the menu, but they're happy to customize. Mozza's pizzas are in the Neapolitan style -- thin in the center but gradually thicker toward the outer edge and ending with a fat puffy rim. They age their dough 3 days and bake at very high temps, which gives the crust a perfect combination of crispy and chewy with a slight sour tang. The pizzas are on the small side, perfect for one person. Glad to see that they do not overcheese their pizzas, a common American mistake, so all the wonderful flavors came through. Best pizza since dining at Francis Ford Coppola's Cafe Zoetrope in SF in North Beach, where they do the same style pizza. A great little restaurant, with antipasti, salads, meat dishes, paninis, bruschette, daily entre specials, and lots of interesting (and classic) pizzas. Go!
